- Children put a shoe on the floor in the
evening for gifts in the morning
- Pieten are his helpers
- Pepernoten are given by the pieten to
the kids
- The pieten go through chimneys into
the houses and thats why they are
black.
- People felt discriminated by the black-
faced Black Pieten so now he is not
black anymore and has soot marks as
you can see in the picture below

• Pasen is called Easter in English.

• You basically put chocolate eggs
in the house or in the garden for
people to find.
• This is a Christian holiday, they
celebrate that Jesus rises up from
the dead.
• This was in the year 325
Koningsdag

• King's birthday
• 27th of april
• The first King's day was in 2014,
before that it was
Koninginnedag.
• Most people don't have work on
this day.
• Everything is orange.
Carnaval
• Everybody dresses up
• Christian holiday, now
celebrated by every dutch
person.
• The season of preparing starts
at 11 November and people
celebrate 3 days in between 1
february until 9 march but every
year it’s a different date.
