A solenoid valve is an electromechanically operated valve. The valve is controlled by an electric current through a
solenoid.
They are often used to replace manual valves or for remote control. Solenoid valve function involves either
opening or closing an orifice in a valve body, which either allows or prevents flow through the valve. A plunger
opens or closes the orifice by raising or lowering within a sleeve tube by energizing the coil.
Solenoid valves are simple and effective electrically operated valves to control liquid, gas or steam. Solenoid
valves have many uses, from controlling compressed air to operate pneumatic equipment, controlling high-
pressure oil to operate hydraulic equipment.
How does it work ?
A valve is a device or natural object that regulates, directs or controls the flow of a fluid (gases, liquids,
fluidized solids, or slurries) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. ... In an
open valve, fluid flows in a direction from higher pressure to lower pressure.
What is the purpose of using the transistor

Transistors are a three terminal semiconductor device used to regulate current, or to amplify an input signal
into a greater output signal. Transistors are also used to switch electronic signals. The circulation of electrical
current through all types of transistors is adjusted by electron addition.

In our circuit, the transistor has to be able to carry a current of 350 mA on a continuous basis.
when the circuit is "on", the voltage drop across the transistor needs to be small enough that the solenoid coil gets
enough voltage across it.
Procedure :
1- We connect The Base of transistor to a the positive pin of the 6 DC source and through it we connect a
push button and a 1 kilo ohm to control the current flow for the base of transistor.
2- We connect the emitter to the ground of DC Source.
3- we connect the collector to the negative pin of solenoid
4- The Solenoid have two pin the positive one with positive pin of 12 DC source and the negative pin as
mentioned earlier with collector
