Introduction
 A mesh formed of wires welded together to form a rectangular
mesh of gauge with or without PVC bonding is known as weld
mesh.
 Welded Wire Mesh is laid uniformly horizontally and
vertically, welded at every intersection. Welded Wire Mesh
offers level and flat surface.
 Welded mesh appears as guards in buildings and factories, as
animal enclosure and fence in agriculture; it also appears in
horticulture industry as tree guards, plant protection.
Assortments available:
Hot-dipped galvanized after
welding;
Hot-dipped galvanized before
welding;
Electro galvanized after welding;
Electro galvanized before welding;
Welded mesh, PVC-coated;
Welded mesh made of stainless
steel.

Many types of Welded Wire Mesh

are available hot-dip galvanized
after manufacture, which gives a
zinc coating in excess

USES
Welded Wire Mesh is extensively used in industry and agriculture
construction, transport and mines for all such purposes as poultry houses, egg
baskets, runway enclosures, draining rack, fruit drying screening, fences.

 Fencing of Gardens
 Tennis Court
 Stadium
 Play Grounds
 Power Station
 Airports/Air Fields
 Farm Houses
 Swimming Pools
 Orchards
 Oil Fields
 Gabion Boxes
 High Transmission Lines
Manufacture
First the wires are laid horizontally
and vertically placed at right angles.
The welding is done in 2 ways:
1) Spot welding: When the wires are laid
at right angles they are spotted at the
points of intersection and welded
together. This method is followed
when a fine work is needed. It appears
neat. Spot welding is generally used.
2) Electric welding: the mesh is welded
electrically at every intersection.
Welded junctions are seen. This is a
faster method.
Welded wire mesh typically has
larger openings than woven wire mesh.
With the wire strands welded at each
intersection, welded wire mesh is more
capable of maintaining its shape when
stressed.
It is also used in framed panels, the
framing being in timber or steel
sections (angle sections). In the heavier
gauges it can form a very strong
unclimbable fence.
Some makers provide a heavier rod
welded to the periphery of the mesh
sheets so that fencing can be provided
in series of panels.
Fixing of weld mesh
 The mesh is welded to the
angle sections of size 35 X
35 X 5 or 40 X 40 X3.
 The angles are placed at the
intervals of 1.5 m.
 Cement grouting is done
and the angles are fixed into
it. The angles go deep into
the wall upto 300mm.
 Mesh is welded to the
angles after grouting and
fixing.

Sizes
Weld mesh are available in the sizes
of:
width: 1 m -1.2 m.
length: 15 m.
Most Welded Wire Mesh products are
manufactured in both roll and panel
form with a
wide variety of gauges and mesh
sizes.
Openings of weld mesh are of sizes:
50 X 50
50 X 75
25 X 75
75 X 75
Sizes of gauges: 8 – 12 gauge.
Welded Wire Mesh is packed in rolls, wrapped with
waterproof paper.
With increasing attention paid to the protection of
property and plant against vandalism, theft and civil
disturbance, Weldmesh has found many applications in
security products.
The material provides a combination of strength and
resistance to penetration, while offering good visibility and
maintaining harmony with the environment. Weldmesh offers
a choice of coatings and finishes that increase longevity and
help to blend it into its surroundings. The presence of
Weldmesh also acts as a deterrent. It offers resistance, and it
takes considerable time and effort to cut.
