Base of the Nevado Pastoruri.
The base of Nevado Pastoruri has one of the fastest retreating glaciers in Peru. It is common to hear guides
comment on how not so long ago the glacier was much larger. In addition to inviting in situ a reflection on climate
change and how it affects glaciers, visiting the base of Nevado Pastoruri still offers incredible landscapes
surrounded by imposing mountains and the gigantic pieces of ice that rest in the glacier lagoon.

How to get to the base of the Nevado Pastoruri,

Located 70 km south of Huaraz (2 hours 30 min by

Market.
Central market.
There are several markets in Huaraz, of all the markets that I have seen, the Central Market Huaraz
("Central Market"), located between Antonio Raimondi and Hualcan streets, is without a doubt the one
that, due to its rusticity, marked us the most. we find it very much like the markets that can be found in
China, live caged animals, stray dogs that come and go, free-range meat on all the shelves, and women
choose their guinea pig, which is. They find themselves trapped in a net so to be able to share the
experience of this market to hold them accountable to the world, but luckily without the smell.

STORY
The two rabbits.
Spring had come to the country. The sun was shining on the
mountain and melting the last snow. Down in the meadow, the
animals welcomed the warmth of the change of season. The
warm breeze and the blue sky encouraged many animals that had
been hiding for weeks to come out of their burrows. At last the
harsh winter had disappeared!

The cows grazed quietly, nibbling blades of grass and the sheep,
in groups, followed the shepherd to the rhythm of their own
bleating. The little birds animated the day with their songs and,
from time to time, a wild horse galloped past in front of
everyone, enjoying their freedom.
The most numerous were rabbits. Hundreds of them took advantage of the magnificent day to go in search of wild
fruits and, incidentally, stretch their numb legs.

Everything seemed calm and there was peace in the air, but suddenly, from
among some bushes, a white rabbit came running and screaming like crazy.
His neighbor, a gray rabbit who considered himself very clever, stepped aside
and yelled at him:

 Hey, buddy! stop!. What happens?

The white rabbit stopped short. The poor man was sweating profusely and
could hardly breathe from the effort. Panting, he turned to answer.

 What do you think?. It doesn't take very clever to imagine that not one, but
two huge greyhounds are chasing me.
The gray rabbit frowned and made a face of circumstance.

 Wow, it is bad luck! You're right, I see them coming there, but I have to tell you that they are not greyhounds.

And as someone who does not want the thing, they began to argue.- Aren't they
greyhounds?

 No, my friend. They are dogs of another breed.

They are hounds! I know it well because I am older and have met many throughout my life!

 But what are you saying! They are greyhounds! They have long legs and that way of
running gives them away!
 I'm sorry, but you're wrong. I think you should check your eyesight, because you can't
see beyond your nose!
 So you think? Could it be that you are already too old and the one who needs glasses
is you?
 How dare you!
Engaged in the fight, they did not realize that the dogs had gotten dangerously close and had them on their necks.
When they felt the heat of the canine breath on their long ears, they jumped big at the same time and, luckily, they
managed to get into a molehill that was half camouflaged at a short distance.

They were miraculously saved, but once underground, they were very ashamed. The white rabbit was the first to
recognize how stupid he had been.

 Those dogs almost sank our teeth! And all for getting involved in arguing about nonsense instead of putting our
skin to rest! The old gray rabbit nodded ruefully.
 You're right! It was not the time to fight over something so absurd. The important thing was to flee from the
enemy!
The rabbits in this fable embraced each other and, when the dogs, whether they were greyhounds or hounds, left,
they went for a walk like two good friends who, thanks to their clumsiness, had learned an important lesson.
Moral:
In life we must learn to distinguish the things that are really important from
those that are not. This will be very useful for us to avoid wasting time on things
that are not worth it.

Thank you!
