Scalene/30-60-90
45-45-90
Scalene/30-60-90
• is a special right triangle with angles measuring 30
degrees, 60 degrees, and 90 degrees, and the sides have a
specific ratio of x, x√3, and 2x.
Formula
FORMULA
• The length of the shortest side, "a," is equal to x.
• The length of the side opposite the 60-degree angle, "b," is
equal to x√3 (x multiplied by the square root of 3).
• The length of the hypotenuse, "c," is equal to 2x.
Right Isosceles/
45-45-90
• the two legs are equal in length, and the length of the
hypotenuse is equal to the length of the leg multiplied by
the square root of 2. This relationship holds true for all
45-45-90 triangles, regardless of the scale or size of the
triangle.
Formula
FORMULA

If the length of one of the legs (the two equal sides) is "a," then
the length of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is
"a√2."
