Research repositories
NEP 2020 promotes the establishment of institutional and national research repositories, where
researchers can deposit and share their work, ensuring long-term preservation and accessibility of
research outputs.
NEP 2020 proposes initiatives to protect and encourage Intellectual Property Rights
(IPR). These include raising awareness and incorporating IPR education, establish-
ing Intellectual Property Management Cells (IPMCs) for guidance and support, pro-
viding incentives for IPR creation, strengthening collaboration with industry, de-
veloping a comprehensive IPR policy framework, and establishing technology li-
censing and transfer offices. These initiatives aim to foster a culture of IPR protec-
tion, facilitate commercialization, and promote the effective management of intel-
lectual property rights in the education and research ecosystem.
