WHY ENVIRONMENT AND
HEALTHCARE? (SUSTAINABILITY)
• The primary reason for life to exist on earth is its environment,
terrestrial, aquatic and aerial.

• Natural resources used by humans come from the nature, land

we live on.

• For humanity to survive and the population to grow it is of

utmost importance that we ourselves take care of our health.

• For a sustainable future to the next generations, it is our job to

prevent natural resources provided by nature from getting
depleted.
EFFECTS OF FACTORS ON HEALTH OF A
INDIVIDUAL

• AS THE WORLD CHANGES WITH DUE COURSE OF TIME, NEW

AND NEW WAYS TO EXPLOIT NATURE ARE FOUND.

• DUE TO POOR MANAGEMENT AND LACK OF KNOWLEDGE TO

HANDLE RESOURCES, SOMETIMES THE ENVIRONMENT IS
HARMED.

• THERE ARE DIFFERENT ROOT CAUSES OF THESE DEPLETIONS

AND DIFFERENT SOURCES THROUGH WHICH IT OCCURS
WATER TO HEALTH
AIR TO HEALTH
• Secondary pollutants released
by vehicles, industries etc.
damage the respiratory organs
of humans.
• Air pollution also contributes to
the major problems of climate
change.

SOIL TO HEALTH
• Soil pollution harbours a broad spectrum of negative consequences
that affect plants, animals, humans, and the ecosystem as a whole

• Since children are more susceptible to diseases, polluted soil poses

a greater threat to them. Some important effects of soil pollution are
detailed in this subsection.

• The root cause of soil pollution is often one of the following:

• Agriculture (excessive/improper use of pesticides)

• Excessive industrial activity
• Poor management or inefficient disposal of waste
DELHI 2016 (CONCLUSION TO THE CASE STUDY)
• WHILE THERE HAS BEEN TREMENDOUS PROGRESS ON
INFRASTRUCTURE AND RESEARCH FRONT, HOWEVER, THE
PLIGHT OF DELHI INHABITANT ISN’T COMING TO AN END.

• HEALTH IS AN ALL COMPREHENSIVE AND ALL-PERVASIVE

ASPECT. WHILE CLEAN AIR IS A CITIZEN’S RIGHT, IT CAN’T BE
WITHIN A GOVERNMENT’S PURVIEW TO CONTROL ALL THE
FACTORS. THE CITIZENS ALSO NEED TO BE RESPONSIBLE.

• THE VISION OF CLEAN DELHI ISN’T POSSIBLE WITHOUT

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION.
