What is Self-leadership?
According to Carmeli et al. (2006) self-leadership is
a intellectual skill (intangible asset).
It is also a dynamic capability based on an influence
process impacting innovative behaviors at work.
Self-leadership is therefore learned.
Definitions

• Dynamic capabilities such as self-leadership are essential firms’


resources to achieve sustainable competitive advantage
• Leadership is a social and goal-oriented influence process, unfolding
in a temporal and spatial milieu
• Process is a mechanism indicating the “why” and “how” of a
phenomena (influence)

• Focusing thoughts on natural: Every task has
positive and negative features. Keeping the focus
on the positive features motivate one to embark…

• Visualizing successful (scenarios’ preparation)
• Self-talk (confronting courageously inner debate-
dissertation)
• Evaluating belief and assumptions (this is how it as
