ABOUT THE
AUDITORIUM
 The project brief entailed the fitting-out and interiors of an auditorium facility
for Chettinad Health city, to be used as part of the medical institute.

 The auditorium facility been designed to cater to a diverse activities such as

stage performances, lectures or seminars, projection of recorded medical
information web-casts & broadcasts etc.

 The auditorium was envisaged using a similar approach, using the

three-dimensional geometric pattern to run through fabric-mounted,
acoustical wall and ceiling panels, eventually creating a Three-
dimensional envelope for the auditorium space.

 Wooden Slots devised as portals, were shaped as insertions within the

wall to house HVAC, Lighting, audio-visual equipments and Acoustic
services. To augment the randomness of the false ceiling, recesses clad
in wood were used to puncture the ceiling.
ACOUSTIC
CARPET FLOOR
 At many places its important to cover the
floor with soundproofing material to
absorb the reflections like in offices, home
theatres, studios, auditoriums and
multiplexes.

 Acoustic Carpets come with an extra

underlay to absorb the sound.

Acoustic carpets are available in different

colors to choose from, Solid and Textured.
The NRC > 0.50.

 Soundproofing carpets also stops sound to

go on lower floors if the treatment is done
on any upper storey.
UPHOLSTRED
SEATS
• Auditorium Chairs are an
integral part of the acoustical
design of a space as it covers
90 percent of the exposed floor
space and makes a significant
contribution to any room’s
reverberation time. There can
be zero compromise regarding
the acoustic efficiency of these
chairs as it is critical for echo
elimination and reverberation
control.

Wall panelling
• Fabric-mounted, acoustical wall
and ceiling panels

• Wooden Slots devised as

portals, were shaped as

house HVAC, Lighting, audio-
visual equipment and Acoustic
services.
CEILING
PANELS
The ceiling has also been treated
with acoustic panels the shape of
the ceiling helps to reflect sound
within the auditoria reducing dead
spots
