INTRODUCTION
THE FOLLOWING PRESENTATION WILL COVER THE EVIDENCE I HAVE GATHERED FROM ASSESSMENTS AND COURSE WORK I
HAVE COMPLETED THROUGHOUT MY ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP JOURNEY. I HAVE CHOSEN ASSIGNMENTS WHICH
HIGHLIGHT THEMES THAT HAVE BEEN IMPORTANT TO ME THROUGHOUT MY PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL LIFE. BY
CYPHERING AND CODING I WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY THEMES THAT ARE FUNDAMENTAL TO MY VISION AND VALUES. THESE
CENTRAL THEMES WILL SERVE AS A GUIDE WHEN MAKING LIFE CHANGING DECISION AND CAREER PLANS.
Research Process and Methods

I used artifacts and coursework from previous organizational leadership courses to provide me
with the necessary data to help me recognize my ten personal themes. On the next several
slides I will highlight my ten personal themes as well as the sources used to support those
themes.

MY 10 THEMES
The next few slides will cover my top ten personal themes. These themes reflect who I am and
what is important to me.
Theme 1: My Family
Theme Statement: Loving and providing for my family is my motivation for everything I do. I want my
children and husband to feel unconditionally loved, valued, and secure.

2. In my personal life the things that bring me the most joy are my children and my family. I
absolutely love being a mother to them, spending time with my them, providing for them, and
loving them. I feel my purpose in life is to equip them with the skills needed to feel loved, whole,

3. Being a wife and a mother are the most treasurable roles in my life. The responsibilities of being
a wife and a mother are priority in my life. (IE)

Theme 1: My Family con’t

Your natural supportive, listening and empathetic behavior makes you a good
coach. Someone people turn to when they need help or advice. (DPT) My role
as a Branch Manager and a leader can pull me away from home life. My work
life balance becomes lop-sided at times.
◦ Reflection
Being present in my family is of utter importance to me. My goal in life is to be
a loving supportive wife and mother. I want my children to know the Christian
faith and have a strong foundation in Christ. Growing up with divorced parents
has influenced me to support my husband, I do not want my children to have a
divided home. I want to ensure my family is financially secure. However, it is
important for me to find a career that will support a healthy work-life balance.
Theme 2: My Faith
Theme Statement: Choosing to trust in my faith even during crisis. My faith is a framework for
who I am and influences the decisions I make in my personal life and professional life.

2. I am also very happy when I am at church, God gives me peace and solace. (3Q)
3. Being a Christian provides me with a sense of identity. I can navigate through life with

Theme 2: My Faith con’t
◦ Contradictory Evidence
It was a drastic change, and I became withdrawn from my faith. I had a lot of
anger towards my dad and our relationship became strained. (LIN) The only
time I felt my faith was tested was when I was going through a tough due to a
strain on the relationship with my dad.
◦ Reflection
Being a Christian and having a spiritual relationship with God has greatly
influenced the decisions I have made in my life. I feel it has also influenced
the goals I have in life and my priorities such as being a good wife and
mother. My actions are often led by my faith, my morals, and my foundation.
Values such as integrity, honestly, and doing what is right are central to me.
Theme 3: Helping Others
Theme Statement: Being kind to others and having a willingness to help people without a
personal agenda.

2. The organizational leadership program has showed me that I have a passion for helping

3. I realized how much I enjoyed helping people whether they were consumers or team

According to the assessment, it states that I am interested in activities that
include working to achieve economic gain as well as personal or organizational
goals. (KSC) I think my ambition to achieve economic gain and hit goals can
pull me away from helping others develop in their roles. I can become hyper
focused on goal metrics rather than helping others.

I get a lot of satisfaction from helping others. I have learned that my greatest
successes are when I help people reach their goals and career aspirations.
Additionally, when I help someone, I do whatever is necessary to find a
solution for that person.
Theme 4: Empathy
Theme Statement: Having the skill to sympathize with others on what they are feeling or what
they are experiencing.

Solves problems by following established rules, practices, and
procedures and by looking to authorities for advice and counsel. (KCI)
There are certain situations where I can be by the book and remove
emotion.
◦ Reflection
Empathy is something that comes very naturally to me. I have always been able to
sympathize with people and understand what they are feeling. I am very aware of
how others are feeling and often share their emotions. I can easily relate to people
and be sensitive to their situation.
Theme 5: Leadership
Theme Statement: Leadership is about encouraging, inspiring, and guiding others to reach
their goals or find their potential.

1. I worked for several leaders who saw my leadership potential and really believed in
my ability to grow with the organization. (LIN)
2. After securing a leadership role my priorities changed and I became less focused on
school and eventually decided to take a break. (LIN)

4. I am a Branch Manager, and this really allows me to focus on developing,
mentoring, and coaching my team members. (IE)

After securing a leadership role my priorities changed and I became less focused on
school and eventually decided to take a break.(LIN) I struggled balancing work life and
personal struggles and lost focus.

I never thought I would be in a leadership role. When I started working at my current
organization my goal was to secure a flexible position that would allow me to continue
to focus on college. I worked for leaders who saw my leadership potential and because
of their support I am now a successful branch manager and a leader of people.
Theme 6 : Teamwork
Theme Statement: Teamwork in small or large groups is essential. It is important for teams
to work together cohesively in order to be effective and functional.

◦ Reflection
I love people. My ability to empathize with people and value humanity really influences
my value on teamwork. I have seen how dysfunctional teams can struggled with
cohesiveness, moral, and production. I put an emphasis on promoted healthy working
environments.

Relationships
Theme Statement: I enjoy meeting new people and building relationships with them. I build
trust easily and I think this is a result of my ability to build trust.

My past trauma has taught me to be aware of my surroundings and it has impacted my
ability to fully trust others, especially men. (LIN) Sometimes I still struggle with trust
issues.

Building connections in life is necessary. Humans need companionship which is why I
feel like I have put such an emphasis on making connections with people I meet. I very
easily create trust and this makes people connect with me and this has been beneficial in
my work life.
Theme 8: Work-Life Balance
Theme Statement: Having a healthy work life balance is important for complete mental
and physical health.

4. The first two years of college I really did amazingly, I had great grades, I was

I have always been very career driven and sought opportunities for growth. Once I had
children my priorities changed. I want to have a successful career and be financially
secure but more importantly I want to be a good mother and wife and take care of my
family.
Theme 9: Giving Back
Theme Statement: Serving the community by giving back to others.

1. I am a volunteer and I donate my time to helping others.(IE)
2. My dream career is to own a non-profit organization that focuses on helping
survivors of trauma. (VD)
3. I am very generous, I participated in 17 volunteer event in 2023 and donated
through my payroll deduction. (IE)

Achievement is number 3 on my super worker value test I fill this can contradict with
giving back because I can be very goal oriented.
◦ Reflection
Giving back through monetary donations, donating time, or donating items to the less
fortunate has become something I do consistently. If I can provide someone with
something they need I will always do it because I feel like I have a duty. Giving back
has improved my well-being. I find joy in giving back to others.
Theme 10: Resilience
Theme Statement: Being resilient has pushed me to keep moving forward even when
things are tough.

I also struggled with self-worth and self-esteem issues. (LIN) My healing journey is still
a work in progress and sometimes I do struggle with self-worth and self-esteem issues.

Life is hard and it is full of ups and downs. I have learned that it is very important be
resilient. I give a lot of credit to my faith which has guided me on a path of healing. My
faith has given me strength to move forward and forgive.
My Personal Vision Statement

“I vow to help others and be kind to people I come across in my life no matter the circumstances. I vow to
have a positive impact on the lives of those I touch by helping others find hope, forgiveness, and love. “

Reflection: During the process of working on my vision statement I realized the one thing I am most
passionate about is helping others. I have goals and aspiration of securing a positions where I can help as
many people as possible. I have also had the realization that I can start working on my vision now by
simply being kind to others.
My Personal Mission Statement
“My mission is to spread kindness by always choosing to do what is right. I want to be an example for my
children and teach them to always treat others with dignity and respect. I want to be an advocate for
those who do not have a voice and always seek to protect those who are vulnerable. “

Reflection: I want to choose to always be kind and do what is right even when it seems challenging. In the
world today it often seems easier to turn a blind eye but I want to be an advocate and always stand up for
those who are in need. I want to be kind to humanity, love others, and protect the vulnerable.
