is the relationship of melodies
(horizontal) and harmonic
(vertical) elements of music which
produces qualities of lightness or
heaviness, thickness, or thinness.
CHARACTERISTICS OF TEXTURE
It has sonority which is determined by the
musical instrument used.
The greater the number of participants, the
thicker the heavier the sonority becomes.
The higher the register, the lighter or thinner the
sonority becomes.
The closer the voice or instrument, the thicker
the richer the sonority becomes; the wider they
are, the thinner the sonority.

Partner song is a polyphonic texture where two different
melodies are sung or played at the same time.
