Catapult

Forces that act on the catapult

The main forces found in a catapult/the throwing
object are:

Elastic force
Tension (on rubber bands)
Torsion (providing to put it into work)
Gravitational force (to the whole catapult as an
object and to the object which will be thrown)
Air resistance (to the object which will be
thrown)
The distance of the throwing object
The result are:
First test 6.7 m // time 3 s
Second test 6.9 m // time 3.2
Third test  7.1 m // time 3.5 s
Fourth test 6.9 m // time 3.2 s
Fifth test 6.6 m // time 2.9 s

Average distance:
(6.6+6.7+6.9+6.9+7.1)/(5) = 6.84 m
Average time:
(3.2+3.5+3+2.9+3.2)/(5) = 3.16 s
The kinetic energy in the throwing object
Kinetic E = (m*v^2)/2
A.Speed = A.d/A.t
 6.84 m/ 3.16 s = 2.16 m/s
 Mass of one orbit = 14 g /10 = 1.4 g= 0.0014 kg

Kinetic energy of the orbit

 [0.0014 kg* (2.16m/s)^2]/2
 0.000326 J = 3.26 * 10^-4 J
