 INTRODUCTION
 Substation: A facility that transforms and distributes electricity at different voltage levels, ensuring
efficient transmission and delivery to end-users.

 Distribution: The process of delivering electricity from substations to homes,

 ANALYSIS
We get familiar with the equipment like:

1.Transformer
 Transformer is the devices which is which to step up or step down the voltage.

2. Potential Device (P.T)

 It is used for the transformation of voltage from a higher value to the lower value.
 3.Corona Ring
 They are also called as anti-corona rings.
 Corona rings are used to prevent corona discharge that
occur high voltage power lines.

4.Isolater
 Isolator is a switching devices which offers making and breaking
Of electric current in a circuit.
5. VCB Panel
 It has two portion(upper &lower) which include all the relays, wattmeter,
Voltmeter and many other switches.

 Capacitor bank
Its is the system consisting of several capacitors connected
In series or parallel to form an energy storage system.
 RECOMMENDATION
One of the supervisor has explained all the working system, control system and all the equipment very well. There are some
recommendation that makes more betters:
1. They explained all the equipment present in the substation but the controlled room and the other room was not clean which
is not satisfied.
2. The surrounding weren't too good, It is surrounding with grasses, other plant which is big in size which makes difficult to
walk has high probability for the harmful insects.
All the explanation about the substation with all the equipment were good, they explained in nepali language which makes
easily to understand, The only thing is all about surroundings.
 CONCLUSION
So, after visiting the 132kv substation which is used to stepdown the voltage 11kv or 33kv. We
get the following information about it:

1.We got the knowledge about different protection device used in substation like relay, fuse,
circuit breaker, L.A and many more

2.We got the idea how to read the one line diagram of power substation using different symbols
used in the diagram with their purposes.

3.We knew about transformer why/how it is step down from 132kv to 33kv or 11kv and
distributed to different area.

4. We get the knowledge about transformer, Circuit Breaker, isolator, Busbar, protective relays,
Corona rings, Lightening arresters and many more others with their function and their working
principle.
