Introduction
 In this introduction, we will explore the intricate relationship between climate change
and sustainable living, highlighting the importance of individual and collective actions
in fostering a more resilient and harmonious coexistence with our natural world
 Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, fundamentally
altering the world we live in and threatening the delicate balance of our planet's
ecosystems.
 The consequences of rising global temperatures, extreme weather events, melting ice
caps, and shifting climate patterns are becoming increasingly evident.
 To mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and ensure a habitable planet for
future generations, the concept of sustainable living has emerged as a critical paradigm
shift in our way of life.
 Sustainable living involves making conscious choices and adopting practices that
minimize our environmental impact while meeting our needs and improving our quality
of life.
 It is about recognizing the interdependence between human well-being and the health
of the planet.
Climate change

 Climate change refers to the change in the

environmental conditions of the earth. This
happens due to many internal and external
factors. The climatic change has become a
global concern over the last few decades.
 The global climate continues to change rapidly
compared to the pace of the natural variations in
climate that have occurred throughout Earth’s
history
Causes of climate change

 Volcanic eruptions
 melting glaciers caused by climate
change will increase volcanic a warmer
atmosphere caused by climate change
will increase the effects of major
volcanic eruptions
 Volcanic eruptions are often discussed
in relation to climate change
because they release CO2 (and other
gases) into our atmosphere
Pollution

 Emissions of pollutants into the air

can result in changes to the climate.
 Air pollution can damage crops and
trees in a variety of ways. Ground-
level ozone can lead to reductions in
agricultural crop and commercial
forest yields,
Deforestation

Deforestation refers to the decrease in forest

areas across the world that are lost for other uses
such as agricultural croplands, urbanization, or
mining activities. Greatly accelerated by human
activities since 1960, deforestation has been
negatively affecting natural ecosystems,
biodiversity, and the climate .
Earth Orbital changes-

 More tilt- warmer summers and colder winters.

 Less tilt – cooler summers and milder winters.

WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE LIVING?

 SUSTAINABLE LIVING: Sustainable living is a

lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual’s or
society’s use of the Earth’s natural resources and
personal resources.
 It is an attempt to reduce the dependence on
natural resources. Sustainable living means to
make a lesser negative impact on the
environment
Some easy Ways to practice sustainable living

 Become a member of a community

garden
 Spend more time reading and playing
games
 Reduce , Reuse and Recycle
 Unplug devices when not in use
Become a member of a community garden

 A community garden is any piece of land that is

cultivated by a group of people rather than a single
family or individual.
 Community garden can save your money because
by growing some of your own food, you can buy
less at the store
 Community garden can help to fill the need of
fresh Produce for your neighbourhood
Spend more time in
reading and playing
games
 How can this be a part of Sustainable
living?
 Producing your reliance on
entertainment form that require
and energy and natural resources
you can help to reduce the demand
Reduce , Reuse and Recycle

 Reduce your need to buy new products . If there is less waste ,

then there is less to recycle or reuse.
 Learning to reuse items , or repurpose them for different use
 Reuse products instead of throwing them away.
Unplug device when not in use

 Most of the electronic devices keep on drawing electricity even

when they’re off.
 To reduce energy usage simply pull the plug when not in use
 It will help you to save energy and reduce your monthly
electricity bill.
Sustainable Development goals
Conclusion

 The conclusion drawn from the extensive research on climate change and sustainable
living is clear: urgent and concerted action is imperative to mitigate the catastrophic
effects of climate change and ensure a sustainable future for our planet. The scientific
consensus overwhelmingly supports the fact that human activities, primarily the
burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, have significantly contributed to the rising
global temperatures, extreme weather events, and disruptions to ecosystems. To combat
this crisis, transitioning to sustainable living practices is essential. This includes
reducing greenhouse gas emissions through renewable energy adoption, energy
efficiency measures, and reforestation efforts. Moreover, embracing sustainable
lifestyles at both individual and societal levels, such as reducing waste, conserving
water, and promoting eco-friendly transportation, is crucial.
