CONTINUOUS CORING 3-7/8”

HOLE
Preparation:
• CHANGE THE LOW RPM MOTOR ON THE TOP DRIVE
TO THE HIGH RPM MOTOR CORING OPERATIONS.
• PREPARE THE ROD, INNER TUBE, OUTER TUBE, HEAD
ASSEMBLY, AND OVERSHOT.
• THE INNER TUBE ALREADY CONNECT WITH HEAD
ASSEMBLY.
• PREPARE MINIMUM TWO OF INNER TUBE ASSY ON
CATWALK.
• ENSURE ALL THE EQUIPMENT NEEDED ARE IN PLACE
AND IN GOOD CONDITION.
• ENSURE THE OVERSHOT ROPE SOCKET INSTALLED
ON WIRELINE UNIT.
MAKE UP CONNECTION
• PREPARE CORING ROD ON CATWALK.
• HANG UP THE ROD USING CRANE TO CONNECT WITH TOP DRIVE.
• LOWER THE TOP DRIVE WHICH CONNECT WITH CROSSOVER 3-
1/2” IF BOX X HQ ROD PIN AND CONNECT WITH HQ ROD ON V-
DOOR
• PERSONNEL HOLD THE ROD ON V-DOOR WHILE TOP DRIVE
ROTATE TO TORQUE UP THE ROD.
• Prepare the coring rod on catwalk.
• Pick up the coring rod using crane to mouse hole.
• Lower the top drive which connect with crossover 3-
1/2” IF Box x HQ Rod Pin and connect it with rod on
mouse hole. Hold the rod using pipe tong while
connect to top drive.
• Torque up with recommendation make up torque 750
– 1500 ft-lbs
Retrieve Inner Tube
• Ensure the overshot is installed properly
with the rope socket on sandline.
• Line up and hang up the wheel sheave and
sandline to top drive.
• Lower the overshot until latch onto head
assy on inner tube
• Retrieve the inner tube to surface and
laydown same.
• Prepare the other inner tube and continue
running while WSG remove the core on the
inner tube.
• Put the inner tube into inner
tube rack and push it using
hydro test pump to remove
the core.
• Wash and clean up the core
before observation.
• Move the core that has been
cleaned to core rack. And
WSG observe the core.
• Cut core in a meter of length
with grinder then put it into
core tray.
• Take a photo of each core
tray with label.
3-1/2” Perforated Liner
• RIH 3-1/2” casing to total depth xx

• Prepare and check the releasing
spear is working properly.
• Connect 2-7/8” releasing spear
with 3-1/2” HQ rod until reach
casing point.
• While RIH 3-1/2” casing, do not
attempt to rotate the casing.
• Rotate to release the 3-1/2” casing
from 2-7/8” releasing spear
