ACTIVE INGREDIENT FOR RUST REMOVER CENTRO DOS RESULTS/DISCUSSION PROGRESS RESULTS AND DISCUSSION • This chapter presents the analysis and interpretation of the study on Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) and Kamias (Averrhoa Balimbi) as main active ingredient for Rust Remover. The content of this chapter are the data gathered from the experiments conducted on our homes. The presentations are done according to the specific objectives and hypothesis. Results were presented using tables for convenience and for easier comprehension. TABLE 1: TIME EFFECTIVITY TABLE 1: TIME EFFECTIVITY TABLE 1: TIME EFFECTIVITY • Based from the table above, we have gathered data by giving a rating of the amount of rust present in the soaked bolts, we allotted 48 hours for this experiment, with a 3- hour interval. The table presents that the product shows its minimum effectivity at the 6-hour mark. We are able to see that the Commercialized Product is behind by a small margin on the first 12 hours. But when we left it for another 9 hours, we have observed that there was a large drastic change between the amount of rust on our product compared to the commercialized one. Based from the data gathered, we are able to determine that the optimum time for the product to work is around 21-23 hours.. TABLE 1.1: GENERAL EFFECTIVITY TABLE 1.1: GENERAL EFFECTIVITY TABLE 1.1: GENERAL EFFECTIVITY • Based from the table above, we have gathered data by giving a rating the appearance of metal bolts overtime, we allotted 50 hours for this experiment, with a 5-hour interval. The table presents that the during the first 10 hours of the experiment, most of their appearances were equal but changes overtime. Unexpectedly, the metal on the Commercialized Product on the 50-hour mark suddenly increased its rust by a small amount. Based from the data gathered, we are able to determine that the Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) and Kamias (Averrhoa Balimbi) Rust Remover, has statistically better results compared to Brand X. TABLE 1.2: COST TABLE 1.2: COST
• Based form this table, the prices of each ingredient were
not the full cost price, but instead the estimated price in correlation with the amount needed for the product. We opted not to put any cost in the water as we only needed a small amount, and water is accessible. • Our product has a ₱128.00 difference between the products, considering the results of its effectiveness from the table above. TABLE 2: GENERAL EFFECITIVTY SUMMARY • Based from this This table shows that the Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) and Kamias (Averrhoa Balimbi) Rust Remover has 6 count, 53 sum, 8.8 mean, and a variance of 0.53. While Commercialised Rust Remover has 6 counts, a sum of 46, a mean of 4.66 and a variance of 0.33. TABLE 2.1: T-TEST FOR GENERAL EFFECITIVTY • Table 2.1 presents the test for general effectivity between Calamansi and Kamias Rust Remover and the Commercialized Rust Remover. The computed t is 2.84 and the table t is 1. 812. This indicates that the computed t value is higher than the table t, therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected which means there is a significant difference between Calamansi and Kamias Rust Remover and the Commercialized Rust Remover in terms of its general effectivity. TABLE 2: TIME EFFECTIVITY SUMMARY • Based on the Time Effectivity Summary in Table 3, Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) and Kamias (Averrhoa Balimbi) Rust Remover has a total of 12 counts, a total of 80 counts, a mean of 6.7 and a variance of 8.61 counts. However, Commercialised Rust Remover also had 12 counts, with a total of 52 counts, a mean of 4.3, and a variance of 3.5 for the same sample period. In comparison between the two means, they do have a large amount of mean difference which is 2.4 TABLE 3.1: T-TEST FOR TIME EFFECITIVTY • Table 3.1 presents the test for time effectivity between Calamansi and Kamias Rust Remover and the Commercialized Rust Remover. The computed t is 2.08 and the table t is 2.074. This indicates that the computed t value is higher than the table t again, therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected which means there is a significant difference between Calamansi and Kamias Rust Remover and the Commercialized Rust Remover in terms of its time effectivity.
