SOCIALIZATION
SOCIALIZATION

Sociologists call this a process whereby


individuals acquire personal identities
and learn the norms, values, behaviors,
and social skills appropriate to their social
position.
SOCIALIZATION

The process by which we learn the


attitudes, values, etc., that are important
for interaction with others.
Socialization begin at
birth or shortly thereafter

argument suggests that people
socialize and behave in certain
ways because the way they are
raised.

People are not born with inherent traits that
determine their social behavior but rather are
molded by their surroundings, experiences,
and interactions with others. It highlights the
importance of family, culture, education, and
socialization processes in shaping an
individual's identity.
Humans are highly social animals
means that human beings have a strong
and inherent inclination or tendency to
engage in social interactions and form
social connections with one another.
Successful socialization can
result in uniformity

within a society.

during the socialization process

• the culture’s norms
• the language of the people around us
