ADOLESCENCE
MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES: These
problems affect the way you think, feel
, and behave and can ultimately lead
to mental health disorders such as
stress, depression and anxiety.
BULLYING/ CYBERBULLYING: The
increased use of social media by teenagers
has made bullying more visible and
widespread. Because of this, cyberbullying has
become the most common form of harassment
that young people have to deal with.
IMPULSIVE SEXUAL BEHAVIOR:
Changes in physiology may lead to
heightened sexual activity among young
people. This proclivity to sexual curiosity
make the guidance of the parents or other
significant adults crucial this time.
ALCOHOL OR SUBSTANCE
USE: Heightened peer pressure
and self-confusion among
adolescents may trigger the use of
alcohol and drugs.
HEALTH ISSUES: Adolescents, just like
adults and children , are susceptible to
health problem, including some direct
results of unhealthy habits such as binge
eating, drinking to much sugary drinks, and
being sedentary.
ACADEMIC PROBLEM: Some
adolescents struggle academically
for various reasons, including peer
pressure, health issues, and risk
behavior.
PEER PRESSURE: Peer
pressure and the desire to fit in
oftentimes result In changes in
behavior among adolescents .
EXCESSIVE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA:
Social media can be a great source of
information. However, one has to be
cautious about misinformation and
disinformation brought about by fake news.
ON SCREEN VIOLENCE: Some of the
movies or videos are depicting inappropriate
violence and disturbing images that are not
healthy for adolescents. It might contribute
to lack empathy and aggressive behavior
among adolescents.
