Name of the film: The Titanic
The film ‘Titanic’ is based on the one and only
voyage of RMS Titanic in 1912. In the movie,
this story is presented to the audience as a
flashback. The narrator is Rose, 101 years old
who survives the collision of The Titanic with
the iceberg on April 14th, 1912. When the ship
sinks on April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning,
Jack dies and Rose survives. 84 years later,
Rose tells the story about her life on The Titanic
to her grand-daughter and friends and explains
the first sight of Jack who falls into love, then into
a flight for survival. Written and directed by
James Cameron, the film is full of adventures,
drama, romance, melodrama and tragedy.
Jack Dawson (Leonardo Di Caprio) is a young
boy who wins passage to America aboard the
Titanic in a lucky game of poker. Rose DeWitt
Bukater (Kane Winslet) is travelling to America,
to be married to Cal Hockley (Billy Zane), a
situation she is not thrilled about. Sparks fly
when Dawson manages to talk Rose out of
jumping overboard, but tragedy awaits as the
• Unsinkable ship hits the iceberg and begins to
flounder.
The recreation of the ship, both the exterior and
the interior are impeccable. The excellent
camera work and digital stereo sound effects
gave a true to life experience to the audience.
The dialogues are witty and brilliant. The
movie is slow at times, but riches its climax
when the ship begins to sink.
The nice thing about a ship sinking is that it is a
relatively slow event, and Cameron takes
every advantage of it. The depiction of the
mighty ship going under is so much larger than
life and I feel this is the most magnificent part of
the movie not just to be seen, but also to be
experienced. So make sure you see it on the
big screen.
