Lifting work in TDL – GZB

It is proposed to provide cushion of 350 mm in section in compliance of condition


required for speed raising to 160KMPH from present 130KMPH. Accordingly
scope is identified for pure lifting in TDL-GZB section (In UP line 27 km and in DN
line 27 km, total 54 km)

In PRA-HRS section work of lifting of track is planned by deploying BCM, CSM,


Unimat and DGS
PRE LIFTING ACTIVITIES:

• Arrangement of adequate workers by agency

• Measurement of existing cushion

• Joint survey by Engineering and TRD to ensure availability of margin in OHE

• Transfer of existing RL to OHE mast

• Boxing of spread ballast

• Unloading of ballast in less than standard profile lengths

• Advance high temperature destressing in advance length

• Impose 30 kmph SR

• Necessary memos to S&T and TRD

• Planning of suitable duration block with operating. It is planned


Caution in lifting location is relaxed to normal on 8th day

DURING BLOCK ACTIVITIES:
• BCM to lift track.( Avg 75 to 100 mm to make 350 MM cushion )

• Workers on both sides to pack ballast below lifted sleepers.

• Follow up packing to be done with CSM & DGS.

• Traffic block of 150 minutes is being allotted. In this duration 300 to 325 m track lifting by BCM and tamping
by CSM and DGS is carried out. Tamping of previous day work is also done to manage caution length.
• POST LIFTING ACTIVITIES:
• Caution to be raised in stages of 40 kmph, 75 kmph and normal.

• Ballast boxing/dressing.

• Ballast unloading to make standard profile. (In traffic block)

• Marking of raised final level on OHE mast

• Initial lift of about 90 to 100 mm is done by BCM. After initial packing

done by manual means and subsequent packing by CSM followed by

stabilization by DGS, total clear lift of about 60 to 70 mm is achieved

thereby ensuring 350 mm cushion.
