THERSHING

• In palm oil production process, threshing is the second process.


Threshing is to separate the palm fruit and bunches, and then make
the palm fruit continue to be processed in the whole line.
STERILIZATION
• The heat treatment helps destroy oil-splitting enzymes and seizes
hydrolysis and autoxidation.
• In large scale palm oil mill plant, where the fresh fruit bunches
(FFBs) need to be cooked whole, the steam weakens the stem of
the fruit and reduces the effort required to get the fruit from the
bunch with mere tumbling in the threshing machine or shaking.
DIGESTION
• Palm fruit is one part of whole palm oil extraction process.
• The palm fruit digester machine is in front of the screw palm oil
press machine and behind the palm fruit thresher.
• The palm fruit digester machine can effectively crushing the
Sterilized palm fruit to palm fruit pulp.
PRESSING
• Palm oil processing process is quite different from other oil
seeds processing.
• The complete set palm oil processing machine includes palm oil
extraction process(how palm oil is extracted), palm kernel oil
extraction process(how palm kernel oil is extracted) and palm
oil/palm kernel oil refining process.
CLARIFICATION

• In complete palm oil production plant, clarification is the process


that ensures removal of all impurities from the crude oil.
• The sludge is taken different tank chambers and processes to
remove particles and other suspended materials. Settling tanks
that are based on gravity are used in eliminating the solids.
• In other levels, the centrifuge can be taken into action. High
temperatures of 85-90 degrees are used and water introduced to
dissolve the content. At the end of palm oil clarification, a vacuum
dryer is used to evaporate water from the oil.
• The following is a step to step guideline that is followed in
clarification of palm oil production process to get pure palm oil.
PURIFICATION
• The palm oil Purifier is widely used for the purification of palm oil.
• The oil is fed from the oil tank to the purifier where impurities and
water are removed.
• After purification the oil passes to the vacuum dryer, and is finally
pumped to the main storage tank via an oil cooler.
FRACTIONATION

• Palm oil fractionation goes through the control of palm oil


cooling and crystallization to make separation of palm oil
into low melting point liquid (soft fat) and high melting solid
(sterin).
DEODORIZATION

• In deodorizing, the odour and taste of the oil are removed when the oil
is steamed at high temperatures of between 240°C to 260°C and then
cooled to room temperature.
