ORGANIC FARMING

What Is Organic Farming ?

Organic farming can be defined as an agricultural process that uses biological fertilizers

and pest control acquired from animal or plant waste. Organic farming was actually

initiated as an answer to the environmental sufferings caused by the use of chemical

pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. In other words, organic farming is a new system of

farming or agriculture that repairs, maintains, and improves the ecological balance.
An organic movement began in the

1940s as a reaction to agriculture’s

growing reliance on synthetic

fertilizers and pesticides .The history of

this modern revival of organic farming

dates back to the first half of the 20th

century at a time when there was a

growing reliance on these new

synthetic, non-organic methods.

Organic Farming not only helps to produce healthy
foods and nutrient-filled products, but also it
repairs, maintains, and improves the ecological
balance. Organic farming helps improve the soils
fertility, which helps to grow other crops.

With an increase in the number of pest

attacks and a constant rise in the
consumption of food ; protecting the crops
against pests becomes crucial , which calls
for the uses of pesticides with upgraded
strength.
