Form: Tính từ ngắn

S + V + adj/adv - er + than + N

Eg: Today is hotter than yesterday (Hôm nay

nóng hơn hôm qua)
Lưu ý:
• Với tính từ ngắn có 1 phụ tâm tận cùng (trừ
w,x,z) và trước nó là 1 nguyên âm, ta gấp đôi phụ
âm cuối, rồi mới thêm -er. Ví dụ: bigger,
hotter...
• Với tính từ ngắn tận cùng là -y, thì ta chuyển -y
thành -i rồi thêm -er phía sau. Ví dụ: happy -
happier, dry - drier...
Hoa is more beautiful than Mai.
Form: tính từ dài

S + V + more+ adj/adv + than + N

Eg: He speaks English more fluently than I

(Anh ấy nói tiếng Anh trôi chảy hơn tôi)

Lưu ý:
Đối với các tính từ có hậu tố -ed, -ing, -ish, -ous thì luôn dùng
cấu trúc more ... than dù là tính từ ngắn hay dài. Ví dụ: more
useful, more boring...
Khi dùng more thì không thêm -er. Ví dụ: more faster
(sai)
