 Bisericile pictate din Bucovina
Aflate in judetul Suceava, cele opt
biserici pictate din nordul Moldovei –
Bucovina – au intrat in patrimoniul mondial
al UNESCO. Sapte dintre ele – Arbore,
Humor, Moldovita, Patrauti, Probota,
Suceava si Voronet – fac parte din
patrimoniul mondial inca din 1993, in timp
ce Manastirea Sucevita a fost inclusa in anul
2010. Bisericile au fost construite la sfarsitul
secolului al XV-lea si in secolul al XVI-lea, de
catre Stefan cel Mare (Voronet si Patrauti) si
de catre alti domnitori moldoveni.
The painted churches of Bucovina
Located in Suceava county, the eight
painted churches from the north of
Moldova - Bucovina - have entered the
UNESCO world heritage. Seven of them -
Arbore, Humor, Moldovita, Patrauti,
Probota, Suceava and Voronet - have been
part of the world heritage since 1993, while
the Sucevita Monastery was included in
2010. The churches were built at the end of
the 15th century and in the 16th century,
by Stefan the Great (Voronet and Patrauti)
and by other Moldavian rulers.

Asemenea bisericilor pictate din
Bucovina, opt biserici de lemn din
judetul Maramures au fost incluse pe
lista UNESCO. Barsana, Budesti,
Desesti, Ieud, Plopis, Poienile Izei,
Rogoz si Surdesti sunt bisericile de
lemn care, incepand cu anul 1999, fac
parte din patrimoniul mondial.
Constructiile sunt inguste, inalte, cu
turle suple si lungi la capatul vestic al
cladirii.
The wood churches of Maramures
Like the painted churches of
Bucovina, eight wooden churches
from Maramures county were
included in the UNESCO list. Barsana,
Budesti, Desesti, Ieud, Plopis,
Poienile Izei, Rogoz and Surdesti are
the wooden churches that, since
1999, are part of the world heritage.
The buildings are narrow, high, with
long and slender towers at the
western end of the building.

Bisericile fortificate din
Transilvania au fost de asemenea
incluse pe lista UNESCO a locurilor
de patrimoniu mondial, Biertan in
1993, iar Calnic, Darjiu, Prejmer,
Saschiz, Valea Viilor si Viscri in
1999. Cele sapte sate si bisericile
lor fortificate se afla in cinci judete
– cate doua in Sibiu si Brasov si
una in Alba, Harghita si Mures.
The foritified churches of Transilvania
The fortified churches of
Transylvania were also included in
the UNESCO list of world heritage
sites, Biertan in 1993, and Calnic,
Darjiu, Prejmer, Saschiz, Valea Viilor
and Viscri in 1999. The seven villages
and their fortified churches are
located in five counties - two each in
Sibiu and Brasov and one in Alba,
Harghita and Mures.
 Manastirea Curtea de Arges
Manastirea Curtea de Arges, locul de
odihna al regilor Romaniei. Manastirea
Curtea de Arges a fost ctitorita de Neagoe
Basarab, la inceputul secolului al XVI-lea,
fiind situata in Curtea de Arges, la circa 40
de kilometri de Pitesti. Manastire de
calugari, are hramul “Adormirea Maicii
Domnului” si este cunoscuta pentru doua
legende, cea a mesterului Manole si cea a
Sfintei Filoteia, sarbatorita pe 7 decembrie,
ale carei moaste se afla in aceasta
manastire.
Arges Monastory
Curtea de Arges Monastery, the
resting place of the kings of Romania.
The Curtea de Arges monastery was
founded by Neagoe Basarab, at the
beginning of the 16th century, being
located in Curtea de Arges, about 40
kilometers from Pitesti. Monastery of
monks, it is dedicated to "The
Assumption of the Virgin Mary" and is
known for two legends, that of the
master Manole and that of Saint
Philoteia, celebrated on December 7,
whose relics are in this monastery.
