Individual learns to conform to the norms and
values in a group and develops his/her own self by
learning and knowing about his/her own self from
the others.
Another term for socialization is enculturation.

us. As we interact with others, the people
around us become a mirror (an object that
people used to call a “looking glass”) in

members, more or less of the same age, the
neighborhood, or school is called peer group,
friends, clique, gang, or barkada.
