MATERIAL SELECTION FOR DOUBLE WISHBONE SUSPENSION SYSTEM

• Various materials can be used in fabrication for double

wishbone suspension

• Materials should be used on the basis of their structural

rigidity, tensile strength, toughness, hardness and resilience
to fracture.

• For high structural stability and lightweight parts, aluminum

Solidworks model for double wishbone (Al 7075 T6) is used for arms.
suspension

• Grey cast iron is used for nuts and bolts.

• For spring elements, neoprene rubber is used extensively as

it provides better stiffness compared to other materials.

• For dampers, Chromium Vanadium Steel (AISI 6150) is used.

KINETO- DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF DOUBLE WISHBONE SUSPENSION

• A quarter vehicle model is considered here, which

composed of sprung-mass, un-sprung mass, suspension
spring, suspension damper, tire stiffness and damping,
by considering some of its major motions.
