Slope stability is important in the design and construction of the earth dams
Some factors affect on the slope stability for the earth dams such as change
Any dam failure or accident to dam can cause a potential hazard to property
and lives of millions of people who dwell downstream of the dam and also
live stock.

In this study, Analysing the slope stability of wand dam at different levels of water which is located in
Dayala Governorate.
This analysis can be done in different methods and the results are given below.
The soil properties o f the dam is given below:
o Unit weight=21 KN/m^2
o Cohesion=0 kpa
o Internal friction angle(phi)=39 degrees
The relationship between the minimum (F) and water level(m) is given below.

• The relationship between the minimum (F) and water level(m).It can be seen that the values of
(F) are decreased between (h=0 to 10 m) because the value of soil cohesion equal 0.
• This leads to increasing the pore water pressure inside the dam body, as a result of that the
resisting force decrease, which leads to decrease the values of factor of safety.
• While the values of factor of safety becomes increase when the water level(h) greater than
(10m) due to increase the water forces supported the upstream slope face that decreasing the
driving forces.
