Present Simple
Used for general facts, habits, routines, and permanent situations.

 Structure:

Affirmative: Subject + base form of the verb

I play football every weekend.

Negative: Subject + do/does + not + base form of the verb

She doesn't like coffee.

Interrogative: Do/does + subject + base form of the verb?

Do they speak Spanish?


Present Simple

1. She (cook) __________ dinner every evening.


2. They (not/like) __________ coffee.
3. We (usually/play) __________ board games on weekends.
4. My sister (work) __________ as a teacher.
5. It (rain) __________ a lot in this region.
Present Continuous
Used for actions happening now, temporary situations, and future arrangements.

 Structure:

Affirmative: Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing

I am reading a book right now.

Negative: Subject + am/is/are + not + verb-ing

They aren't watching TV at the moment.

Interrogative: Am/is/are + subject + verb-ing?

Is she cooking dinner?


Present Continuous

1. I (read) __________ a novel at the moment.


2. They (not/study) __________ for the exam right now.
3. She (watch) __________ TV while eating dinner.
4. We (work) __________ on a group project this week.
5. The children (play) __________ in the garden.
Present Simple & Present Continuous

 The tenses still do the same, but now together in one sentence

 I usually play tennis, but today I am playing basketball.

 She works in an office, but this week she is attending a conference.

 He watches movies often, but today he is watching a documentary.


Present Simple & Present Continuous
