RULES & REGULATIONS FOR
MOVEMENT ON APRON
Operation of A Vehicle And/or
Equipment
• Ensure serviceable of the vehicle, particularly oil leakage.
• Awaiting arrival of A/C, vehicle may be parked by the side
of the parking bay keeping clear of vehicular track, only
approach the aircraft when permitted by the ground
engineer of the airline / operator.
• All drivers must have valid ADP as well AVP for the ground
operating vehicles. Ensure driving license is not expired.
• Tug / Towing vehicles / Catering / Passenger step operate
at a minimum speed.
• No speed higher than 25/30 Km/hour, at the vehicular track.

• Stop vehicle immediately on observing an A/C taxiing/towing.

No vehicle should cross infront of the taxing/towing aircraft.

• Only RT fitted vehicles are allowed to enter the runway with

the permission of the control tower.

• All persons working on Airside, will use PPEs (where

applicable), shall wear uniform, fluorescent jackets and safety

gears.

• All persons working at the airside must ensure NO-SMOKING.


• Report to Control Tower / Airside office of CAA in case of any accident

/ incident or any hazardous situation, any suspicious activity

• Don’t leave vehicle unattended in operational areas.

• Never position the vehicle behind the A/C has started his engines,

never position vehicle inside the area marked with safety cones

except the designated vehicles required for particular operation.

• The vehicle shall be equipped with a fire extinguisher (1Kg DCP or

CO2) securely mounted on suitable brackets affixed to an easily

accessible position

SAFETY DISTANCES FROM A
STATIONARY / PARKED AIRCRAFT
• Safe distance; at least 5 meters be maintained from the wing tip of a

stationary A/c

• Keep clear of A/c engines and do not pass within 8 meters from the air-

intake or within 80 meters from rear of a running jet engine

• Vehicles not directly involved in the handling of A/c; maintain a distance of

at least 15 meters from a parked aircraft

• Never start the engine of a vehicle within 15 meters of an aircraft being re-

fueled

• When an aircraft is being re-fueled, a safety zone of 2.5 meters radius is

maintained
