INTRODUCTION
Students in the Drafting course spend a lot of time working with their plates
with the use of a drafting table. Common drafting tables are heavy, and inconvenient for
students to transfer while working. On top of that, students complain about the table’s
lack of space. As a result, it does not suit their preferred body position and students are
having a hard time working due to discomfort. According to Zakaria (2018), desks now
available on the market come in a wide variety of styles, sizes, and configurations that
can accommodate anything that is placed on them.
Design Thinking Theory was developed by Razzouk and Shute (2012) with this goal in
mind. In this investigation, the notion of design thinking will be used by us in order to
construct the concept. Design thinking is an analytical and creative process that involves a
person in chances to experiment, build and prototype models, get feedback, and rethink.
The researchers established a conceptual framework for the study, beginning with
the application of scientific principles to plan and design a versatile foldable and
expanding desk. The well-crafted design forms the basis for developing a prototype
with multifunctional capabilities. User feedback is collected and utilized to refine and
improve the project, aligning it with user preferences and usage patterns.
This chapter shows the research method of the study. These include the research design, sampling
and participants, instruments, data gathering procedure, data gathering, data analysis and ethical
consideration.
Research Design
The researchers made use of the quantitative design to go through factors around the
innovation. Quantitative design allows researcher to acknowledge the participants’ perspectives about
the product. The researchers will take advantage of the questionnaires to gather critical observations
and utilize the results for a thorough analysis with the factors including the materials, cost
effectiveness, ergonomic stressors, and features of the pieces of the product.
Project Development
The researchers used the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement,
and Evaluate) model to guide the research development.

Sampling and Participants
Frequency - This will be used to (a) arrange and summarize the survey data in a tabular
format, (b) interpret the data, and (c) identify outliers (extreme values) in the data set.
Percentage - Percentages are one of the most commonly used statistics. Percentage
figures are derived by dividing one quantity by another with the latter rebased to 100.
Percentages are symbolized by %. Besides being especially useful when making
comparisons, they come in handy for studying a difference
compared with a benchmark or initial value.
