acres in Rajiv Gandhi Education City
at Sonipat, Haryana. To continue growing
strong in fields for science, tech and
research education, the University has

Brickwork/Blockwork
Introduction

The bricks are classified into different types on the basis of their shape and size – The
1st class , 2nd class and 3rd class

Different system of bonding is used in brick work such as English Bond,

Double Flemish, Single Flemish etc

The standard co-ordinating size for brickwork is 225mm x

112.5mm x 75mm (length x depth x height) which includes
10mm mortar joints

Different types of bricks are available such as common burnt clay

brick fly ash brick , Hollow bricks
The precast concrete aerated blocks are use blockwork for
masonary purposes. There are two types of concrete blocks:
1. Solid Concrete Blocks
2. Hollow Concrete Blocks

Mainly concrete blocks are used in partition walls due to large in size and
blocks are available in multiple sizes (600 x 200 x 100) used at site

A masonry band is a horizontal band that is used to reinforce

masonry buildings by tying all the walls together

Mullion column is provided at ever 2m of blockwork to increase

the strength and stability of wall
here are two types of concrete blocks:
1. Solid Concrete Blocks
2. Hollow Concrete Blocks
