Teaching Internship

Requirements
2nd Semester, SY 2023-2024
PRE-INTERNSHIP:
 Completed academic requirements other than Practice Teaching

 Attendance in the Teaching Internship Orientation and Lesson


Planning Seminar-Workshop

 Medical Clearance

 Waiver signed by the parent/guardian and duly notarized by a lawyer


DURING INTERSHIP:

 Internship Duration – 12 weeks (February 19 – May 17, 2024)


– Monday to Friday
(There are Fridays where Interns will be asked to come back to UA for some school-related activities)
There will be 2 Shifts (same school but different grade or year level)

* First shift is from February 19 up to April 5 (Holy Week is from March 24-30)
* Second shift is from April 8 up to May 17 (Interns may extend duty days to their deployment
school due to absences)

Note: the remaining weeks after internship until end of semester will be used
for preparation and submission of course requirements
DURING INTERSHIP:
Assist the Cooperating Teacher/Mentor in preparing the lessons,
instructional materials, activity sheets/modules, other school-related
tasks.

 Prepare and submit 2-3 lesson plans per week to the cooperating
teacher for checking.

* Execute 2 lesson plans within the week. It should be properly


documented. The cooperating teacher will give comments, feedbacks,
interns’ strengths and areas needing improvement in the delivery of
instruction, lesson planning, and classroom management areas on the
Lesson Plan Notebook.

At the end of 1 Lesson Plan, kindly
leave 1 page for cooperating
teacher’s comments.
ATTIRE DURING PRACTICE TEACHING:

Monday: Universal Practice Teaching Uniform


Tuesday: Program/Major Practice Teaching Uniform
Wednesday: Universal Practice Teaching Uniform
Thursday: Program/Major Practice Teaching Uniform
Friday: Program Shirt with appropriate pants

DURING INTERSHIP:

 Maintain a Weekly Journal/Personal Log of your experiences, as part


of your individual portfolio.

* Another copy will be given to your focal person for compilation


and consolidation. The focal person will then consolidate all reflections
submitted by the group members and come up with a 2-3 page group
reflection as part of the Per-School Narrative Report.

2. Portfolio (Individual)
Contents:
 Lesson Plan Notebook
Weekly Journal/Personal Log (compiled in a folder)
 DTR (signed by the Principal/Head Teacher at the end of every month)

3. Per School Journal (Group Work). This is a compilation of personal


journals/reflections from the student teachers assigned to a particular
school, to be compiled by the focal person. Out of the weekly
journals/reflections of the student teachers, the focal person with the
help of the group members will come up with a 2-3 page group
reflection per week.

 Name of the school (pictures of the different places/facilities of the
school)
 Brief history of the school
 School’s Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives
 Faculty Profile
 Group reflection (2-3 page) per week
 Documentation (pictures) – per week
