Definition
Wireless Charging is a convenient and cable-free
way to charge your electronic devices. It requires two
things: A charger, usually in the form of a mat or a stand
that connects to a power source.

3
Inductive Charging.

Types Resonance Charging.

Radio Charging.

4
Inductive Charging
• Inductive charging is one kind of short
distance wireless charging.
• This method works on the principal
of “ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION” where
the charger device will create E.M field
using insulated copper coil and a similar
coil inside the mobile will convert the
E.M field to electric current and there by
charging the mobile’s battery.
• Example: MP3 players, electric toothbrushes
and other mid sized items.

5
Resonance Charging
• It uses the phenomenon of “RESONANCE”.

• Two copper coils are used one attached to

the transmitter and another to receiver.

• Both coils have same

electromagnetic frequency.

• These coils when placed close to one

another power is transferred.

• Example: electric cars, laptops, robots

etc.

6
Radio Charging
• This method is based on the radio waves.
• A radio wave once transmitted, propagates in
all directions until it reaches an antenna to
receive it.

• A transmitter plugged into a socket,

generates radio waves, when the reciever
attached to the device receives radio waves,
it charges the device.

• Example: Watches, cell phones and

other devices with low battery.

7
With the advancement of wireless charging technology,
Conclusion charging will one day become a simple matter of dropping
devices into the nearest charging pad.
