REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Which is literature and learning related studies Argana (2012) values superstitions.
In the Philippines, many superstitions have been practice here. This is something
that is completely irrational. This creates the belief that misfortune will always
happen to me, it will not to follow.

According to Verano (2012) there are so many superstitions that have no rational
basis. It is possible that people blamed bad luck and their misfortune on actions
they took that were said to be forbidden in superstitions Siogo (2010) found out in
his study that Filipino beliefs and superstitions are growing in number different
regions and provinces in the country. These beliefs came from various saying and
superstitions of our ancestors that aim to avoid the risk of happening or to make a
person refrain from doing something particular. These beliefs are part of gaming
culture, for those who get their customs, traditions and culture dictate to explain
certain phenomena or to put the a fear of man.
According to Jovina (2013) the ancient Filipinos are like people in other
countries who also believe in superstitions that we usually guide them in
their daily lives. The kampangans are surrounded by many superstitions or
beliefs of the elderly about things that have nothing to do with what we see
or do. A good example is ‘it is forbidden to take a bath on Good Friday and
because it is something that they crave, they still follow it, ‘mostly because
they say ‘we have nothing to lose if we follow this.’ Almost every occasion
has a superstitions that must be followed in order to be lucky and away from
harm, mostly from the elders in the town of San Isidro. According to Lorenzo
(2005), it is believed that the superstitions served as the shield of the
ancestors to fight against the forces of nature in any bad event in their daily
life.
