Hotel Rooms

1. Single Room
A room which has single bed facility.
2. Double room:
A room which has double bed facility.
3. Twin room:

A room which has two single bed separated by a center table.


4. Double-double/ Twin double room:
A room having two double beds separated from each other.
5. Connecting rooms:

Two rooms with individual entrance doors from the outside sharing a common wall
and a connecting door which you can use to enter the other room anytime without
having to step out into the passageway and then into the other room. This door can
also be closed and locked.
Connecting rooms are mostly preferred by families on vacation as they allow parents
to make sure that the children are safe in their rooms.
6. Adjoining rooms:

Two rooms that are situated next to each other and share a common wall, but, unlike
connecting rooms, there is no door inside to connect them and each room has its own door
that can be locked, so that privacy can be ensured in either room. These rooms are
connected by a passageway.
In some hotels, an adjoining room shares a wall with another hotel room and each
room is connected by a separate door .
Adjoining rooms are mostly preferred by groups of friends traveling together and want
to stay close to each other.
7. Adjacent rooms:

Any two rooms that are near each other.


They can be located across the hallway (i.e. located opposite to each other/ See photo on
the left) or situated next to each other sharing a hallway (See photo on the right).
8. Hollywood twin room:

A room which has two single bed but shares a common head board.
9. Duplex
A room which is been spread on two floors connected by an internal staircase.
10. Cabana
A room which is near a water body or beside swimming pool.
11. Efficiency room
A room with an attached kitchenette for guests preferring a longer duration of stay.
Generally, this type of room is found in holidays and health resorts where the guest stays
for a longer time.
12. Suite room
A room comprises of two or more bedrooms with clearly defined dinning and sitting areas. The room size or area of suite rooms are generally
between 70 m² to 100 m².
13. Mini-suite / junior suite:
A bedroom and sitting area. Sometimes the sleeping area is separated from the living
room furnishings with a partition.
The room size or area of Junior Suites are generally between 60 m² to 80 m².
14. King bedroom
A room with a king sized bed. The size of the bed is 180cm by 200cm.

15. Queen bedroom


A room with a queen sized bed. The size of the bed is 150cm by 200cm.
