JIHAD

Jihad is an Arabic word which means to
strive. Jihad is not synonyms with the word war
as in Islam there is an broad concept which means
to struggle and make an effort to spread good and
eliminate evils It includes all efforts expending
What is the path of elevating ‘Allah’s Word’ and
Jihad ? overcoming the supremacy o disbelief and the
disbelievers , whether I is done with a weapon,
wealth, pen or tongue. As Allah said about Jihad
“ To struggle to the utmost of one’s ability and
to make great efforts at striving to please Allah
and to uphold His Word”

Physical Jihad
This type of Jihad means to struggle
against one’s self and vain desires, e.g.
walking up very early for Fajr prayers,
giving up habits which are not approved
Spiritual Jihad of in Islam, overcoming greed, hatred
and pride etc. It is also termed as (Jihad-
Bin-Nafs). Regarding this struggle, Holy
Quran says; “Indeed he succeeds who
purifies his owns self”
This type of Jihad means to invite the non-
believers to the way of Allah with wisdom.
Mental Jihad involves giving Da’wah to
convey the message of Islam with patience
and wisdom. It involves intellectual an
Mental Jihad mental efforts in the pursuit of spreading this
message, enjoining good and eradicating evil
in a decent way. The Holy Quran says; “So
obey not the disbelieves, but strive against
them with the utmost endeavor with it (the
Quran).”
This type of Jihad means armed struggle,
however it does not mean unjustified use of
violence. It takes pace when the non-
believers and hypocrites are bent on
harming Muslims, since defense is the
Physical Jihad absolute right of every individual and
nation. The Hole Quran says; “But if they
(the enemies) incline to peace, then you
(also) incline to it, and put your trust in
Allah…. ”

Jihad has a great significance in the lives of Muslims. It involves
noticeable efforts for righteousness. This means that the effort
concentrated in it is a step in the true and ultimate path of Islam,
the effort imposed on one’s self. Thus, this effort means doing
good only for the salvation and pleasure of Allah. Therefore it
should be interpreted as a struggle for doing sincere acts of
Significance kindness to help the poor and needy and the orphans to standup
for people’s rights for freedom to be equitable and to bear witness
to rue testimony. As holy Quran says;
“If any do deeds of righteousness , be they male or female, and
have faith , they will enter Heaven and not the lest injustice
will be done to them.”
