GAP TO BE SOLVED IN THE RESEARCH
Concerns have been raised regarding the energy
consumption of commercial vacuum cleaners, resource
utilization, and the devices' end-of-life disposal. Issues have
arisen regarding the energy consumption of portable vacuum
cleaners, particularly due to their continuous usage.
Additionally, there are worries about the efficient utilization of
resources during the manufacturing process and the disposal of
these devices at their end of life. Proper disposal methods, such
as recycling or safe electronic waste disposal, are crucial for
addressing these environmental challenges.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Invent an eco-friendly vacuum cleaner using recycled plastic bottles and

tin cans, emphasizing sustainability, energy efficiency , user-friendly
design, recyclability, market viability, and collaboration with recycling
systems.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
1. What is the impact on the durability and efficiency of
portable vacuum cleaners when integrated with recycled
plastic bottles and tin cans?

2. How efficient is the home made vacuum cleaner

compared to the one's bought from the store in terms of
energy efficiency?

3. Is there a significant difference in terms of cost-

effectiveness and sustainability between the eco- friendly
portable vacuum cleaner compared to commercially available
options?
RESEARCH DESIGN

• This study uses an experimental research design to assess the

energy efficiency and performance of a portable vacuum cleaner made from
recycled materials like plastic bottles and tin cans.

• The device is powered by various battery voltage levels. The research

employs a quantitative approach, collecting and analyzing numerical data.

• By manipulating independent variables, such as battery voltage, the study

aims to observe their impact on the vacuum cleaner's energy efficiency and
suction performance compared to commercially available products.

• This approach ensures a clear understanding of the data's reliability and

validity.
VARIABLES OF THE STUDY

This study utilizes an experimental research design, which

involves manipulating one or more independent variable (such
as the level of battery operating) to observe their impact on a
dependent variable (the energy efficiency and performance in
terms of suction of the portable vacuum cleaner). In this case,
the independent study aims to identify the effectiveness of the
eco-friendly portable vacuum cleaner in comparison to
commercially available products.
NULL AND ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS

The null hypothesis (H0) posits no difference in energy

efficiency between homemade and store-bought vacuum
cleaners, no significant impact of integrating recycled materials
on durability, efficiency, and environmental footprint, and no
difference in cost-effectiveness and sustainability between an
eco-friendly portable vacuum cleaner and commercial options.
The alternative hypothesis (H1) suggests homemade
vacuum cleaners are more energy-efficient, integrating
recycled materials has a significant impact, and there is a
significant difference in cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
