Overview/Introduction:
 Plastic pollution on college campuses.

 Plastic pollution can alter habitats & entire ecosystems’ ability to adapt to climate change,
which will be directly affecting all living beings without discriminating anyone on the basis of
their Religions, caste, community, beliefs or anything.

 Before we begin, let’s be clear that all the issues has only one solution. But, for the sake of the
project let’s try to know how we can solve this issue by not so practical way.
1. Empathy Phase :

 Acknowledgement before development.

 Then Understanding before implementing.

 WHY: Students have to buy packaged things?
5 Whys?
 WHY: Canteen and other service providers are using things
which have plastics?  Why there’s plastic
pollution?

 WHY: There’s no alternative which can be used by others?

 WHY: There’s no awareness about pollutions?

 WHY: There’s need to aware everyone about minimalistic

lifestyle?
According to our 5 whys we find that 1000 gram problem to solve is to “Spread
Awareness among citizens about the pollution and what they actually need.”

IDEATION PHASE
I got a “brand new” idea, let’s use a light bulb to
symbolize IDEA

Let Goals Be The

Quest
 Implementation of reusable container system for food & beverages in
the campus cafeteria.
 Install water refill stations across the campus to discourage the use
of single-use plastic water bottles.
 Organize awareness campaigns & sustainable alternatives.
 Collaborate with local businesses to offer discounts or incentives for
using reusable containers or bags.
 Introduce composting stations to manage organic waste.
 Encourage the use of digital platforms for communication instead of
paper flyers & handouts.
How Might We?

 How might we eliminate single-use plastic on college campuses?

 How might we promote the use of reusable water bottles and cups on college campuses?
 How might we encourage the use of biodegradable or compostable packaging for food and beverages on college
campuses?
 How might we reduce plastic waste in campus events and activities?
 How might we implement a comprehensive recycling program for plastic products on college campuses?
 How might we educate and raise awareness among students about the environmental impact of plastic on college
campuses?
 How might we collaborate with local businesses and vendors to reduce
plastic packaging for products sold on college campuses?
 How might we incentivize students, faculty, and staff to adopt plastic-free lifestyles on college campuses
Prototype time:

• Establish a Plastic-free Committee. • Collaborate with Food Services Providers.

• Conduct a Plastic Audit. • Implementing Recycling Programs.
• Raise Awareness & education. • Foster Campus-wide Engagement.
• Promote Reusable Alternatives. • Partner with Local Businesses.
• Establish Plastic-Free Zones. • Monitor & Evaluate Progress.
