missionary from Sierra Leone, who travelled to different places in Africa telling people about Christianity and Jesus Christ has adopted Islam. • Muslims make up around 60 percent of Sierra Leone’s 5.5m population, Christians 30 percent and Animists constitute the rest. Compared to the Christian community Muslims have worse living conditions and face widespread missionary propaganda as in other African countries. That is why Bangura decided to promulgate Islam after becoming a Muslim. He says as a priest he was trained particularly to convert Muslims to Christianity. • Bangura asserts that converting people to Christianity is not the only goal missionary organizations pursue in Sierra Leone and adds that the primary objective of all missionary activities in Africa is to wipe out Islam. • Christian missionaries are able to easily influence impoverished people using their financial resources, Bangura noted, adding that poverty has such devastating impact on the Muslim youth that it has the potential to misguide them and they were fighting against it. • "For many years, I tried to persuade Muslims in my country to adopt Christianity, then I had a dream in which I was invited to adopt Islam," he said, adding he had the same dream three times one after another. • Abandoned by his wife and his family after he decided to become a Muslim, Musa Bangura is now calling on people to choose Islam.
• Pointing out all his possessions were seized after his
convert to Islam, he stressed that Islam was what really mattered for him. • Bangura provides material and spiritual support as well as religious education to people who have chosen Islam like himself under the umbrella of WHY ISLAM organization he set up. • He attaches great significance to promulgation and information efforts and to this end he debates Christian scholars (on issues such as the trinity, baptism, etc.) on radio and televisions programs as well as at events that bring together Christian and Muslim communities, delivers talks and sermons. • He stated that the first thing he did after adopting Islam was to make more research on Islam and said, "I revealed the contradictions in Christianity which resulted in my discussions with Christian priests. I proved them that Islam is the real religion." • Bangura said he set up a web site named 'Why Islam' through which he told people why Islam is the real religion and revealed the contradictions in Christianity. Until now, over 8,000 people has adopted Islam thanks to the website, he said. "I now work for the Christians in my county and try to help them realise the truth and choose Islam." • Müzzemmil 19: • Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord!
