ESOPHAGUS ESOPHAGUS!
Activity 1:ESOPHAGUS ESOPHAGUS!

Instructions: Paste the picture

on the board and write your
answer on the board.
Major Parts
of the
Digestive
System
Objective:
At the end of the lesson, the leaners
should be able to:

a. Describe the functions of the

major parts of the digestive
system.
b. Identify the major parts of the
digestive system.
Digestive System
Breaks down food to simple forms of
molecules (digestions), small enough
to be absorbed and used by the cells
of the body (absorption).
Unabsorbed substances are
eliminated as stool (elimination)
Activity 2:
LABEL ME
Instructions: Label the major
parts of the digestive system,
after that each group will
have one representative to
discuss the function of the
different organs.
THE MAJOR PARTS OF
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
1. Mouth
2. Esophagus
3. Stomach
4. Small intestine
5. Large intestine
1. MOUTH
Digestion starts in the
mouth. We put the
food in it to be soften
and chewed through
the help of saliva and
teeth.
2.
ESOPHAGUS
Esophagus is to carry
food and liquid from
your mouth to your
stomach. When you
swallow, food and liquid
first move from your
mouth to your throat
(pharynx).
3.
STOMACH
The stomach holds the
food and mixes it with
acid and enzymes that
continue to break the
food down into a
liquid or paste.
4. SMALL
INTESTINE
Small intestine is to
break down food,
absorb nutrients
needed for the body,
and get rid of the
unnecessary
components.
5. LARGE
INTESTINE
Large intestine is
to absorb water and
salts from the material
that has not been
digested as food and get
rid of any waste
products left over.
Activity 3:
Instructions:
NO TRAFFIC!
Each group will be given a box with descriptions of the
functions of each part of the digestive system. Each
member will pick out a description and deliver it with the
appropriate name of the organ on the floor. The five
members will take turns delivering the descriptions to the
organs. When the ideas are matched appropriately, the 5
leaners will hold on to each other’s waist and run through
the route on the floor from the mouth to the large interior.
The group that finishes first will be declared the winner.
