OBJECTIVE

 This project aims to develop an intelligent indoor plant watering and

monitoring system that analyzes and records environmental
parameters to support plant growth.
 Before sending timely warnings to the user's Android phone, the
sensors gather and analyze information regarding the changing
weather and soil moisture levels.

ABSTRACT

Most people rely on agriculture, which is the backbone of our nation. Water scarcity is
the key problem for agriculture. Water is squandered because the resource is not
utilized appropriately. The irrigation process can be automated to prevent this. Water
waste will be decreased because the Internet of Things is applicable in this industry.
Sensors are used to measure and process data for temperature, humidity, light, and
motion detection. We suggest a system that will use a variety of sensors to gather all
pertinent information about the soil, water levels, and animal footprints. Through the
network, IOT enables remote object sensing and control.

EXISTING SYSTEM

• The current irrigation learning model consists of three basic components. The
first one is the sensor and actuator section, which gathers environmental sensor
data.
• The proposed irrigation decision model run on a cloud server in the second
section, which also produces a decision outcome.
• The third component is the end-user component, where a mobile device can
request manual irrigation and display the irrigation data being tracked.

Department of Computer science and business systems 7

Limitations of Existing System

• Dependence on technology
• Requires maintenance
• High initial cost

Department of Computer science and business systems 8

PROPOSED SYSTEM
• We use a variety of devices, including temperature sensors, humidity sensors,
motion detection sensors, and soil moisture sensors, as part of the smart irrigation
system.
• These sensors will identify the varied soil conditions, and based on the moisture of
soil content, the area will be automatically irrigated. By utilizing other high-end
controllers, the system's performance is enhanced in terms of its operating speed,
memory size, and microcontroller's instruction cycle time.
• Using more powerful controller versions, it is feasible to expand the number of
channels to connect more sensors. Here it is connected easily in Bluetooth for
monitoring the values and measures.

Advantages of Proposed System

• Optimization of water consumption

• Monitoring and control
• Workload and management have become easier
• Allows farmers to be more efficient and productive while using
fewer resources

LIST OF MODULES

 Soil moisture detection

 Temperature prediction

 Humidity control

 Theft detection

Department of Computer science and business systems 13

MODULE 1

SOIL MOISTURE DETECTION:.

Properly balancing the moisture level increases the yield of crops.

It measure the presence of water content in the soil and can be used to estimate the
presence of water in the soil horizon.
Soil moisture sensors do not measure water in the soil directly. Instead, they measure
changes in some other soil property that is related to water content in a predictable
way.

Department of Computer science and business systems 14

MODULE 2

TEMPERATURE CONTROL:

The sensor is equipped with Arduino innovation and can be received to mobile
application with different sensors and live information transmissions is also saved.
Here it detects the value of the temperature which is connected to the Arduino board
and then display it on the LCD.
It also stores the data and send to the mobile application for 2 seconds once.

Department of Computer science and business systems 15

MODULE 3

HUMIDITY CONTROL:
The system starts by collecting data from DHT11 sensor, which measures the
humidity of the environment.
The data is then sent to the Arduino microcontroller, which processes the data and
displays the percentage on the LCD and sends it to the mobile application.
The mobile application then displays the humidity data in real time for 2 seconds
once .

Department of Computer science and business systems 16

MODULE 4

MOTION SPOTTING:
This proposed module targets at making agriculture smart by proposing a device
detects the presence of any living organisms by using Ultrasonic Sensor, especially
animals around the land to be cultivated, along with real-time data analysis.
If any obstacles passes through the farm land the sensor would give an alert to the
farmer in the mobile application and also in the LCD device.

CONCLUSION

• By linking various soil characteristics to the cloud and effectively being managed
remotely via a smartphone application, the Internet of
• Things-based Smart Garden system has been proven to operate satisfactorily.
• The system is designed to not only monitor sensor data such as moisture, humidity,
temperature, and ultrasonic, but also to actuate other parameters as needed. For
instance, if the water level in the tank drops to a certain level, the motor switch will
automatically turn on until the water level reaches the desired level.
• This system can be used anywhere because of its low initial cost and simple
installation.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENT

• By utilizing various high-end controllers, the system's performance can be further

enhanced in terms of its operating speed, memory size, and microcontroller's
instruction cycle time.
• Using more powerful controller versions, it is feasible to expand the number of
channels to connect more sensors.
• A data recorder and a graphic LCD panel that displays the measured sensor data
over time can be used to modify the system.
• An alarm with a spoken voice could be employed. By using a renewable energy
source to supply the electricity, the device's performance can be improved.
• Pesticides, insecticides, and fertilizers can be applied with a time limit.
