Abstract

Plants play an essential role in conserving the ecological cycle and

maintaining the pyramid of the food chain. The rapid advancement of
technology has reshaped and refined every aspect of the human lifestyle,
especially the agriculture industry. These days, people prefer to stay
connected with the internet while doing their regular activities such as
watching television, cooking, etc. There are dozens of beneficial
technologies introduced in the agriculture industry; the Internet of Things
(IoT) and Artificial Intelligence are the real game-changers.

Title of Project 3
Introduction
 The concept behind IoT technology is to set up mutual communication
between the devices via the internet.
 It is a vast network that connects people and different connected things to
collect and share data.
 The connected devices have in-built sensors that are associated with IoT
platforms to access the data from the devices and apply the different analytics
to achieve and present valuable information from the device's data.
 The IoT & AI based system proposed an IoT-based solution for the plant
monitoring system.

Title of Project 4
 The parameters used in this project are temperature, humidity. Moreover,
stored in the cloud server can be accessed through the smartphone.
 IoT based solutions to monitor real-time parameters such as air
temperature, humidity, soil moisture. Wireless 360-degree rotating
Camera identify the plant's diseases and also secured from theft.

Literature Review
Bhuvan Puri , 2020 , concluded that plants play an essential role in our
daily lifestyle and sustain our ecological lifestyle. It is mandatory to
maintain their proper growth and sufficient amount of water for their
healthy life. An intelligent plant monitoring system is developed in this
project, which is enabled with IoT and AI technology.

6
Dr. Senthil Kumar M , 2020 , described that they have comprehensively
summarized the basic but essential methods of how determining the
moisture, humidity, and temperature of plants is done without the help of
human intervention. Best outcomes have been achieved with great
accuracy and advancement in recent years in a cost-efficient way. It also
contributes to improving the standard of living of the user through plant
growth monitoring using various sensors. It helps in reducing the
wastage of plants and contributes to the improvement of quality. In
addition to this, further works include the enhancement of plant growth.

7
Dr. Hetal Patel , 2019 , concluded that the aim of precision agriculture
through the use of IoT is to advance agriculture in order to increase crop
productivity and optimize resources. In addition, the farmer has been
prepared to take advantage of such resources. With the advent of IoT, the
aim of smart agriculture is to include the latest technology in agriculture
and farming for greater crop production by assembling the current real-
time status of crop and making the farmers understand the innovation in
agriculture, with both a number of added features and functionality in
order to enhance agricultural practices.

8
Problem Formulation

The main aim of this project is to combine the crop water requirement based solar
pumping system design as well as an automated irrigation controlling prototype
circuit design using IOT.

The intelligent irrigation circuitry will incorporate all the important features of a
typical irrigation control device, which include soil moisture testing, temperature
level monitoring, timely irrigation procedure and information based feedback facility.

The prototype design also utilises solar power, for the working of system as well as
for pumping facility. The simulated results can be used for efficiently scheduling the
irrigation for any crop by making use of designed automated circuit.

9
A critical Consideration in the segment costs,
since cost define the viability and feasibility of
a project. The water saving was also an
important feature, since there is demand to
decrease water loss and to Maximize the
efficiency used. The Power consumption must
also be monitored.
 To Provide Power To Microcontroller Unit
Using Renewable Energy Source.
 To Give Smart Irrigation System To Farmer.

10
Objectives
The main objective of this project was to design a small scale IOT based
plant monitoring system with smart irrigation system using Solar Enery.

All function work with AI based technology using IOT.

Stored data in cloud server.

It will well-organized way in order to prevent excess water loss and
minimize the cost of labor.

Use of solar energy and main power supply for unerupted power sources.

Wireless camera will monitor the crops and also protect from theft.

Title of Project 11
The following aspects were considered in the choice of design solution.
•Installation cost
•Water saving
•Human intervention
•Reliability
•Power consumption
•Maintenance
•Expandability

12
Methodology

Title of Project 13
Working
A. Sensors: In this project, two different sensors are used to monitor three
environmental parameters such as atmospheric temperature, humidity and soil
moisture. The sensors are discussed as follow:
a. DHT11: The DHT11 is a combined temperature and humidity sensor.
The sensor is equipped with the dedicated negative temperature
coefficient for the temperature measuring. This sensor is pre-calibrated
from the manufacturer and ready to interface with any processing unit. It
is enough to measure the temperature and humidity from 00 C to 500C
and 20% to 90% respectively.
b. Soil Moisture Sensor: Soil moisture is used to measure the moisture
present in the soil. This sensor has two metallic pad works as a probe for
the sensor as well as acts as a variable resistor. These two long pads
conduct a percentage of the water inside the soil. More water means more
conductivity between the pads, less resistivity and higher voltage is out
from the sensor.

14
B. Processing Unit: The processing unit is the major component in any kind of
IoT system. It is used to fetch the data from the sensors, then process into
valuable and readable form and lastly it helps to transfer into cloud or other
devices via Wi-Fi communication. In this project, ESP32 is the main processing
unit that helps to capture the sensor's data, then processed and sent to Thingspeak
cloud.
C. IoT Cloud Server: ThingSpeak is an open source IoT platform that provides
their API to send, store and fetch data through the protocol. The main services
provided by the ThingSpeak platform are multi sensor data logging, providing
GPS coordinates and social network of things.
D. Artificial Intelligence Models: There are AI models used in this project.

Evaluation Parameters: In this project, performance evaluation of the models

is performed using statistical methods.

15
In this project automatic controlling of solar pump sets and alert system
has been discussed fruitfully. The overall idea is that users to take
advantage of the globally deployed IOT networks with its low
information service cost to use mobile phones and simple commands to
manage their irrigation system. All theft and plant monitoring covered
with warless rotating camera.
