GENERAL

BIOLOGY
DIGESTIV
E SYSTEM
Mouth
The mouth is the beginning of the digestive
system, and digestion starts here before you
take the first bite of a meal.
Stomach
It holds food, and also
mixes and breaks food
down.
Intestines
While food is in the small intestine,
nutrients are absorbed through the walls
and into the bloodstream. What is leftover
moves into the large intestine (large bowel
or colon) to be released from the body.
Rectum
connects the colon to the
anus. It is the rectum's job to
receive stool from the colon.

CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
Heart – acts as a pump to transport and
regulate the flow of blood through a series of
blood vessels: arteries, veins, and capillaries
Arteries – are thick-walled vessels that
carry blood away from the heart to the
tissues.
Veins – are thin-walled vessels carry blood
back to the heart.
EXCRETORY SYSTEM
PLANT ORGAN SYSTEMS
Shoot system
The shoot system consists of two portions: the
vegetative (non-reproductive)parts of the plant,
such as the leaves and the stems, and the
reproductive parts of the plant, which include
flowers and fruits. Shoot system generally
grows above ground, where it absorbs the light
needed for photosynthesis.
ROOT SYSTEM
- supports the plants and
absorbs water and
minerals is usually
underground.
PLANT TISSUES
MERISTEMATIC TISSUE
- which are plant regions of continuous cell
division and growth. Tissue cells are either
incompletely differentiated and they continue to
divide and contribute to the growth of the plant.
PERMANENT TISSUE
- consists of plant cells that are no
longer actively dividing.
