CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
A. BACKGROUND
Education is one of effort to make someones
characther. From education we can to teach to our children
how to respect an elder and a younger than us. The
scholars stipulate that child rearing is obligatory, as
obligatory to care for him while in the marriage bond.
In the word of Allah SWT in surah al baqarah; 233.

‫بسم هللا الر حمن الر حيم‬

٢٣٣ ‫وعل المولولهرزقهن وكسوتهنن باالمعروف‬
It mean;
It is the father’s duty to provide maintenance and
clothing for his children and wife in a proper manner. (Q.S
AL Baqarah; 233)

Islam teaches in the qur’an and hadith that there

responsibility for both to care for in the form of providing a
living,caring for,educating,loving and living from childhood
until he is an adult or is able to live independently.

CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION
A. Understanding of education
Education is the learning of knowledge. Skills and
habits of a group of people passed down from one
generation to the next thought teaching, training, or
research. Education often takes place under the guidance
of others. But also possible self-taught or autodidak.
 The first education given is love and advise.Affection
has a positive influence on the development and growth of
children,among other things : can improve brain work,
generate enthusiasm, there is psychological closeness
between parents and children, make children more open
and confident.If Parents or educators want to order children
to do their duties then use positive sentence with soft
intonation.
Do not scold children or yell at children in a loud voice.
B. Why education is important for our life
Education is very important because nowdays we
have entered the era globalization which has had an impact
on the world of education. In addition to the possitive
influence, now globalization also has a negative influence
in the field of education including the weakening
of control of education by the state, the decline in the moral
quality of students, and the grosion of local culture.
Therefore, education is very necessary in human life so
that humans can distinguish ways of behaving, speaking,
ways of thinking and maintaining emotions. So it is hoped
that todays young people can apply their knowledge so as
not to sway in the time.
That is why education is important for life. In islam
seeking legal knowledge is mandatory.
As in the prophetic traditions said :
.)‫ ( طلب العلم فر يظة عل كل مسلم والمسلمات‬: ‫قال رسوهللا صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬
) ‫( رواه مسلم‬
It means :
Rasulullah SAW said : Seeking knowledge is
obligatory upon muslim men and women.
( HR. Muslim )

C. What is the metode of educating children according to

expert and islamic views
 Achild behaviorist named Diana Baumrid (1972) and
Hultsch (1983) conluded that, according to research she
conducted on the relationship between children and
parents, she divided three (3) types of ways of educating
children that are usually done by parents as follows :
1. Authoritative parenting
2. Authoritarian parenting
3. Permissive parenting
Permissive parenting takes two forms :
1) Indulgend Permissive Parenting
2) Indifferent Permissive Parenting

While educating children according to islamic views can be

done in a simple way. Here’s how to educate children in
islam.
1. Teach monotheism
2. Teach worship
3. Shape the child’s personality
4. Teach responsibility
5. Teach morals
CHAPTER III
CLOSING
A. CLOSING
Education is a place to raise children to achieve high
achievements. Because with education we will know how to
resfect each other. Based on the discussion conducted, it
can be concluded that the parenting style applied by the
extended family to children left behind by both parents.
B. SUGGESTION
 Be based on conclusion above the chapter gave the
suggestion that the islamic concept on parenting obligatory
to know as educators, parents and readers. I hope
educators, parents and readers can applies in each life.
However as a writer I realize that this thesis too simple if
said perfect. Therefore, dialogue and criticism too needed
for finishing and correction.
