BARRIERS OF COMMUNICATION
SEMANTIC BARRIERS:
The barriers, which are concerned with problems and obstructions in the
process of encoding and decoding of a message into words or impressions are
called semantic barriers.

PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS:
The psychological barrier of communication is the influence of psychological
state of the communicators (sender and receiver) which creates an obstacle for
effective communication.

CULTURAL BARRIERS:
Cultural barriers in communication arise from differences in cultural norms,
values, beliefs, and practices between individuals or groups. These differences
can lead to misunderstandings and misinterpretations.

PHYSICAL BARRIERS:
A physical barrier to communication is a physical factor or element that inhibits
effective exchanges between two or more parties.

ORGANIZATIONAL BARRIERS:
Organizational barriers are defined as “the internal factors within an organization
that hinder the exchange of information and ideas, including factors like
ineffective communication channels, lack of clarity in messages, or limited
opportunities for feedback.

TECHNOLOGY BARRIERS :
Technological barriers are described as limited access to useful, relevant, and
appropriate hardware and software, especially in “instances where the use of
the technology is perceived as not being sufficient to perform the tasks or
accomplish the objectives for which the technology was initially utilised.

PERSONAL BARRIERS:
Personal characteristics and preferences can be barriers,
such as introversion or shyness. Overcome them by building
self-confidence, practicing public speaking, and using
communication tools that suit your comfort level.
FEEDBACK BARRIERS:
Lack of constructive feedback can hinder communication.
Encourage open feedback, ask for clarification when needed,
and actively seek opportunities for improvement.
To overcome these barriers effectively, it's essential to be
aware of their existence, adapt your communication style to
the situation, and practice good communication skills.
Moreover, promoting a culture of open and transparent
communication in your personal and professional life can
help mitigate many of these barriers.
