• It is the ability to do ‘work’ (Physical Activities).

• It is taken in the form of Carbohydrates, Fats, and Proteins.

Adenosine Triphosphate or ATP is the form of energy inside the body

used in daily activities.
• It is the major source of energy in the body
• Repairs muscle tissues.
The Three Energy Systems

• Phosphagen System- it is also called the quick system.(10-12 secs)

- It is done for powerful movements and does not require oxygen.
• Anaerobic Glycolysis- a.k.a. the medium system. (2 mins)
-it does not require oxygen. It is done for quick exercises with repetition.
(Sit ups and Jumping jacks)
• Aerobic System- a.k.a. the long system. (90-120 mins)
-it produces a lot of ATP, requires oxygen, and can be used for a long
period of time.
-these are used for activities that requires a prolonged period to do.
