STRUCTURE INTERVIEW

• Requires the use of an interview schedule or a list of questions answerable with one and
only item from set of alternative responses
UNSTRUCTURED INTERVIEW

• - the participants answer the questions based on what they personally think and feel about
it
SEMI STRUCTURE INTERVIEW

• Here you prepare a sched or list of questions that is accompanied by a list of expressions
from where the respondents can pick out the correct answer.
• However the respondents answer another set of questions to make them explain the
reason behind their choices
QUESTIONNAIRE

• - is a paper containing a list of questions including the specific place and space in the
paper where you write the answer to the questions

RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY
Research Design
Researcher will use qualitative methods particularly phenomenological
approach.

Role of Researcher
As a qualitative researcher I seek to understand the phenomenal world through
the study of events, actions, talk, and interaction.

Target Population and Sampling

A total of 18 senior high teachers considered out-of-field, teaching subjects
out of their expertise in three selected public senior high school in SJB-Wright II
District. The participants will be selected through purposive sampling technique.
Research Instrument
The instrument to be used is a semi-structured interview, which the data to
be collected through the following:
1. Name
2. Gender
3. Years of Experience
4. Degree
5. Trainings/Seminars Attended
And an interview to the selected participants and participants for focus
group discussion.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researcher will seek approval from Samar division Superintendent,
Principal/School Head. And the researcher will conduct an interview to the participants with
the help of teachers. The researcher will expect 100% cooperation from the participants
The in-depth interview and focus group discussion will be the primary methods in
the data collection for this study. Hence, a semi-structured interview will be used to answer
the research problems of the study. An interview will be used since the study is in qualitative
form.

Data Analysis
Data collected are obtained will be transcribed for coding in relation to the answers
of the structured questions.
Trustworthiness
In order to ensure trustworthiness, validity, consistency, and credibility of
the data, I will invite the participants, in this case my co-teachers, the specialist that
made them reflect on situations related to the topic and then I will describe in detail a
particular instance within one these categories.

Ethical Considerations
Ethical guidelines will be put into place for the research period. My study
will examined the perceptions of teachers, hence, as these individuals are the focus of
my research, I will take careful measures to respect the privacy and confidentiality of
my participants.
