 Private IP Address

 A private address typically refers to an IP address that is reserved for internal

use within a private network.
 Public IP Address
 A public IP address is an address that is assigned to a device or network and is
accessible over the public internet.

 There are two types of public IP Address:

 Static: A static public IP address remains fixed and does not change over time.
 Dynamic : A dynamic IP address is an IP address that is assigned to a device (such as a
computer or router) automatically by a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
server.

 IPV4 and IPV6
IPV4
 IPv4 is the fourth version of the
Internet Protocol and has been the
dominant protocol used on the
Internet for several decades.
 It uses a 32-bit address scheme,
allowing for a total of approximately
4.3 billion unique addresses.
 IPv4 addresses are typically
expressed in dot-decimal notation,
such as 192.0.2.1.
 Due to the explosive growth of the
Internet, the pool of available IPv4
addresses has been rapidly depleting,
leading to the need for a new
protocol with a larger address space
IPV6
 IPv6 was developed to address the
limitations of IPv4, particularly the
exhaustion of available addresses.
 It uses a 128-bit address scheme,
providing an enormous address space of
approximately 3.4 × 10^38 unique
addresses.
 IPv6 addresses are represented as eight
groups of four hexadecimal digits
separated by colons, such as
2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:733

 In addition to providing a vastly expanded
address space, IPv6 also offers other
enhancements, such as improved support
for mobile devices, better security
features, and simplified network
configuration.
