INTERFACE MANAGEMENT MASTER PLAN
(IMMP)
IMMP is a master plan to Identify:
 The project Stakeholders
 The external & internal interfaces
 The interface owners
 The owners relations
 The actions / Scopes
 Technical change management method
 The action timing
 Major interface milestones 16

SOME TIPS ABOUT THE IMMP

 IMP should be provided within base line

project docs such as PEP, PMP …

 Interface management requirements shall

be sufficiently defined in project contracts.

 IMP shall be prepared in early stage of the

project detail engineering (a draft is good
to be provided during FEED) 23

SCHEDULE CONTENTS

Project Integrated Schedule Should include:

 High Risk Milestones

 External Interface Milestones
 The Critical Path based on interface Milestones

Contractors Schedules Should include:

 External and internal interface milestones

 Critical path considering the high risk external interfaces 28

INTEGRATED SCHEDULE SOLUTION

 A common Interface Management solution

 High Risk Interface Points

 The Interface Breakdown Structure (IBS)

 Integrate IBS into P6
 Interdependency between interface points /
agreement and other project activities
29
 Tracking Interface Progress (All Stakeholders)

CONCLUSIONS

 Modular Prefabrication is a proven alternative

methodology to traditional construction method,
delivered to the site complete with expected
standards to suit the project’s requirements.

 Modules can be fully fitted out, including

prefabricated structure, installed equipment,
mechanical services, piping, electrical,
instrumentation with all wiring, lighting, safety and 36

control system

CONCLUSIONS

 EPC Projects, Modular Packaging and multi national

collaboration is a NEED for Large Scale Projects.
 Depending on the projects nature each EPC project could
be implemented in different place by a qualified proven
skilled project team under an integrated project
management system.
 Several EPC projects put a large scale project in jeopardy of
mismatching and conflicts in result.
 Any Large scale Project needs a proper interface 37

management Team

CONCLUSIONS

 All parties should be engaged in the interface

management
 Master Interface Plan is a Tool to mitigate the Risks
 Proper Communication is a must for Risk mitigation
 An integrated Master schedule is an abstract What
has to deliver When?
