"A STUDY ON BUDGETING AND SPENDING
BEHAVIOR AMONG GRADE 11 STUDENTS OF NORTH
DAVAO COLLEGES."
OBJECTIVES:

 To examine the budgeting practices adopted by students.


 To analyze the factors influencing student spending behavior.
 To assess the relationship between financial literacy and effective budget management
among students.
 To explore the impact of socio-economic backgrounds on student budgeting and spending
patterns.
 To propose recommendations for enhancing financial education and support services for
students.
INTRODUCTION

Global - Money is the most common and universal medium of exchange to


obtain the goods and services a person needs. The factors age, personality
traits, and knowledge can serve as a basis on how ABM students manage
their money. ABM students' budgeting skills, influenced by age, personality
traits, and knowledge, are crucial for financial stability and personal growth,
despite their lack of experience.
INTRODUCTION

• National - There is a vast difference in the spending behavior of students of


our country as the system to free the younger population at an early age is
different from the others. The more knowledge students have about their
financial responsibility and statues the less likely they are to be in debt
INTRODUCTION

• Local - Although the researchers have not come across any study in a local
setting, prior studies encountered by the researchers focused on the problems
with speaking performance. This study concentrated on on Budgeting and
Spending Behavior among Grade 11 Students of North Davao Colleges.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS

• 1. What are the profile of the respondents in terms of;


• a. Age
• b. Gender
• c. Monthly Allowance
• 2. What is the overall financial knowledge among students, as well as in each of the following areas?
• a. Spending Habits
• b. Saving Habits
• 3. What are the factors and practices that affect the respondents on budgeting and spending money.
• 4. What are the recommendations this research can provide to create awareness to the incoming ABM
students based on their findings?

• 1. Looking for study-related standardised questionnaires that can be used in the gathering of data.
• 2. Send the questionnaire to the Practical Research 2 Advisor for review.
• 3. Sending a private message using the Messenger app to survey participants, requesting their permission to be
included, as well as and hoping for an affirmative response
• 4. After receiving each of the respondents' responses, the researchers disseminated the survey questionnaires by
using the Messenger app to send out the link to the Google Form that had been created..
• 5. Retrieval of the Questionnaire.
I N S T R U M E N TAT I O N

• Distribute structured surveys or questionnaires to Grade 11 students at North Davao Colleges.


Include questions about their income sources, budgeting practices, spending habits, and financial
goals. And conduct one-on-one or group interviews with a sample of Grade 11 students to gain
deeper insights into their financial behaviours.
SUBJECTS

• The research respondents are the Grade 11 students at North Davao College. With eighty
four (84) grade 11 students in NDCI, the participants shall be enrolled in NDCI.
